Morning Prayers

November 24, 2017- Friday-# 545 Daily Morning Bible Reading and Meditation- Psalm 88 KJV

***But unto thee have I cried, O Lord ; and in the morning shall my prayer prevent thee.***

[2] Let my prayer come before thee: incline thine ear unto my cry;

[3] For my soul is full of troubles: and my life draweth nigh unto the grave.

[9] Mine eye mourneth by reason of affliction: Lord , I have called daily upon thee, I have stretched out my hands unto thee.

[10] Wilt thou shew wonders to the dead? shall the dead arise and praise thee? Selah.

[12] Shall thy wonders be known in the dark? and thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?

[13] But unto thee have I cried, O Lord ; and in the morning shall my prayer prevent thee.

Words to ponder for today:

Morning Prayers

Let me first share the commentary of Charles Spurgeon about this Psalm:

"TITLE. A Song or Psalm for the sons of Korah. This sad complaint reads very little like a Song, nor can we conceive how it could be called by a name which denotes a song of praise or triumph; yet perhaps it was intentionally so called to show how faith "glories in tribulations also." Assuredly, if ever there was a song of sorrow and a Psalm of sadness, this is one. The sons of Korah, who had often united in chanting jubilant odes, are now bidden to take charge of this mournful dirge like hymn. Servants and singers must not be choosers. To the chief Musician. He must superintend the singers and see that they do their duty well, for holy sorrow ought to be expressed with quite as much care as the most joyful praise; nothing should be slovenly in the Lord's house. It is more difficult to express sorrow fitly than it is to pour forth notes of gladness. Upon Mahalath Leannoth. This is translated by Alexander, "concerning afflictive sickness", and if this be correct, it indicates the mental malady which occasioned this plaintive song. Maschil. This term has occurred many times before, and the reader will remember that it indicates an instructive or didactic Psalm: --the sorrows of one saint are lessons to others; experimental teaching is exceedingly valuable. Of Heman the Ezrahite. This, probably, informs us as to its authorship; it was written by Heman, but which Heman it would not be easy to determine, though it will not be a very serious mistake if we suppose it to be the man alluded to in 1Ki 4:31, as the brother of Ethan, and one of the five sons of Zerah (1Ch 2:6), the son of Judah, and hence called "the Ezrahite": if this be the man, he was famous for his wisdom, and his being in Egypt during the time of Pharaoh's oppression may help to account for the deep bass of his song, and for the antique form of many of the expressions, which are more after the manner of Job than David. There was, however, a Heman in David's day who was one of the grand trio of chief musicians, "Heman, Asaph, and Ethan" (1Ch 15:19), and no one can prove that this was not the composer. The point is of no consequence; whoever wrote the Psalm most have been a man of deep experience, who had done business on the great waters of troubled soul.

It is indeed through experience of great trials and hardship that a person, who have been left off alone  by love ones and friends,  had no option but to call upon GOD in prayers day and night.
That is, when a person's strength and all known recourses had failed,  and nothing left to him but his thought, that he will come to realize that only GOD is able to deliver him or her out of the pit of death. Some who have wholly come to repentance and wholehearted trusting GOD, witness the grace,  mercy and wondrous deliverance  of GOD's forgiveness and love. Some who have refuse to yield themselves, their will and their own understanding hold onto themselves unto death without mercy.
This is of a truth: GOD's tenderness is toward them whose heart is humbly set for The LORD. Whose thoughts and desires is to commune with GOD in the morning meditation of His words and in prayers. Morning prayers and repentance, prevent the wrath of GOD to pour out to all wantonness and worldliness of men, which is wickedness in the sight of GOD, even them who deceitfully lures and devour the innocents.

The Apostles has written:
Hebrews 10:26-31 KJV
[26] For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
[27] But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. [28] He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
[29] Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? [30] For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
[31] It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

In this world, there are many troubles created by selfish desires. But talking to GOD in the morning prayers and meditation of His words is the best way to control troubles.  Kneel down and cry to HIM. Call upon GOD in The Name of JESUS CHRIST, and listen to the teaching of The HOLY SPIRIT, that He may appease your weary soul.

Good morning!

Psalm 88:1-18 KJV

[1] O Lord God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before thee: [2] Let my prayer come before thee: incline thine ear unto my cry; [3] For my soul is full of troubles: and my life draweth nigh unto the grave. [4] I am counted with them that go down into the pit: I am as a man that hath no strength: [5] Free among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave, whom thou rememberest no more: and they are cut off from thy hand. [6] Thou hast laid me in the lowest pit, in darkness, in the deeps. [7] Thy wrath lieth hard upon me, and thou hast afflicted me with all thy waves. Selah. [8] Thou hast put away mine acquaintance far from me; thou hast made me an abomination unto them: I am shut up, and I cannot come forth. [9] Mine eye mourneth by reason of affliction: Lord , I have called daily upon thee, I have stretched out my hands unto thee. [10] Wilt thou shew wonders to the dead? shall the dead arise and praise thee? Selah. [11] Shall thy lovingkindness be declared in the grave? or thy faithfulness in destruction? [12] Shall thy wonders be known in the dark? and thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness? [13] But unto thee have I cried, O Lord ; and in the morning shall my prayer prevent thee. [14] Lord , why castest thou off my soul? why hidest thou thy face from me? [15] I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up: while I suffer thy terrors I am distracted. [16] Thy fierce wrath goeth over me; thy terrors have cut me off. [17] They came round about me daily like water; they compassed me about together. [18] Lover and friend hast thou put far from me, and mine acquaintance into darkness.
