January 22, 2018- Monday-#597- Daily Morning Bible Reading and Meditation-Psalm 140 KJV
***I said unto the Lord , Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O Lord .***
[1] Deliver me, O Lord , from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;
[2] Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.
[3] They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.
[4] Keep me, O Lord , from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.
[6] I said unto the Lord , Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O Lord .
[7] O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.
[8] Grant not, O Lord , the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.
Words to ponder for today:
I said unto the LORD, Thou art my GOD
It is such a great relief to know that prayers have power .
However, it would not make any sense if the god to whom you prayed to is unknown and you are not sure of its existence and its beings. So as the more, when the things you prayed for are intended only for your own good but for the destruction of others. Be watchful and careful of what you pray for!
As the Psalmist here, in this written chapter, are also to them who knows The GOD to whom they pray for; The GOD who desires and commanded us to be owned by Him. To Him is the confidence that the moment a believer calls upon His Name, there shall be for sure an answer be given. He may be silent for a time being, and the answer you expected could not easily be found, yet for sure, He answer prayers. For His answer are not always yes, but sometimes no or wait.
For The Righteous and Loving LORD GOD seeks to be called; He seek for each of His creature to be known and own.
He is well pleased if we declare in our mouth from the heart: “I said unto my LORD, Thou art my GOD.”
The LORD JESUS CHRIST once asked his disciples:
Matthew 16:13-17 KJV
[13] When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
[14] And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
[15] He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? [16] And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
[17] And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
My LORD and Savior JESUS CHRIST is The SON of GOD, and therefore He is GOD.
And I know that my Redeemer lives, for He walks with me, He talks with me, and He calls me as His own, and I call Him my own LORD and Savior; The GOD who loves me beyond measure.
I hope you know Him and have a personal relationship with Him too.
O LORD my GOD, Thank you for being my Savior. Thank you for making me as your own. Help me always to listen to your words. Give me the strength to always seek your will. Help me to become your channel that others may know You, as their LORD, SAVIOR and Redeemer. This do I pray, in JESUS CHRIST most precious Name. AMEN!
Good morning!
Psalm 140:1-13 KJV
[1] Deliver me, O Lord , from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man; [2] Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war. [3] They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah. [4] Keep me, O Lord , from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings. [5] The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah. Selah. [9] As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them. [10] Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again. [11] Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him . [12] I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor. [13] Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.
