An Apple Of Gold In The Picture Of Silver

February 28, 2018-Wednesday-# 632- Daily Morning Bible Reading and Meditation- Proverbs 25 KJV

***A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.***

[9] Debate thy cause with thy neighbour himself ; and discover not a secret to another:

[10] Lest he that heareth it put thee to shame, and thine infamy turn not away.

[11] A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.

[12] As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.

[17] Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbour's house; lest he be weary of thee, and so hate thee.

[19] Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.

[21] If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:

[22] For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the Lord shall reward thee.

[24] It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman and in a wide house. [

26] A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring.

[28] He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.

Thoughts to ponder for today:

Apples of Gold In Picture Of Silver

“[2] It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.”

This King Solomon’s Proverbs chapter talks more about personality development. He begins his bywords by challenging our inner thoughts to ponder on how GOD’s wisdom, which He wanted men to attain with, is concealed; even His marvelous works are clearly seen through nature; as well as the individuality of mankind.

Some verses teaches that, we should learn discretion.
Such as in v. 1-10
Not all of our thoughts, plan and desires is approved to others even to the higher authority. It is from the outcome of our deeds that our thoughts are manifested whether we be wise in heart  and righteous in judgement, or our heart is  haughty  and we proudly seek for our own glory.
We may have the best ideas that are beneficial to ourselves, even to others; but speaking up our minds about our plans and trying hard on our own ways to lift ourselves up, in whatever cause it may take, just for the purpose of winning other people’s approval even to some persons in authority, will just putting  our names  to shame, jeopardize our lives and depriving ourselves of GOD’s bountiful uplifting grace.
Through this verses, we are taught to plan with wisdom, speak with understanding, and act with full of knowledge coupled with compassion.
For it is much better to be compared to an apple of gold  in the picture of silver, than a smelly, rotten fruits in the picture of sweet flower.

Our words can make us or break us. If we are not careful with words coming out of our mouth, as we speak the thoughts that is  in our minds and in our hearts; if we cannot hold our tongue to voice out our plans,  then we are “spilling our milk” intended for our nourishment, which cannot be retrieved. We are even exposing ourselves to shame, tainting our reputations, and lowering down our values in the sight of GOD and man.
The wisdom of GOD enable us to adapt ourselves into His nature. Although we cannot attain to most of His thoughts, yet He has given us His words to learn about His precepts, from where, if we will submit our works to His words, subject ourselves to walk in His ways, and surrender all our mind and thoughts to His will, then we will free ourselves from all of the negativities of wickedness written in the following verses.

We may ask ourselves the following questions:

For us women:  Would we wanted to be compared by people around us to a brawling woman whom the author said: he would rather choose to dwell  in the corner of the housetop, than to be with us around? Are we among talebearers that our feet could not be contented to stay at our house and keep it in order, but meddling with our neighbors’ lives; that they almost shut up doors when they see us coming?

For the Men:  Would our Heavenly Father counted you just as He sees you living:
In truth- not falsely accusing your neighbor:
In honesty- that unfaithfulness would not be found in your dealings in every aspect of your lives, and
In integrity, that you are able to control your thoughts, your words your action; allowing the Spirit of GOD works in you?
Does the wisdom from heaven fills your heart with understanding putting things in order in your lives, in your household,in your workplace and in the community you belong?
Would GOD sees us, that our earnest desire is to grow more in grace and enhance our character with godly wisdom, our hearts be filled with compassionate understanding to reach out others, and our hands , feet and all senses be filled with knowledge to keep ourselves even our own houses in orders, that others would be glad having us around in every gatherings; hearing and listening intently while we speak sound words, watching and learning from our ways of life good and godly things which encourage them to follow our footsteps?
Let this reminds us;
Humility is a key to take full control of ourselves; that in  looking ,learning and living upon the humility and meekness of Christ, we can have that discernment to speak sound words fitly;  that our spoken words may be compared to an Apple Of Gold in the picture of silver.

Let us practice daily to take control of our spirit that we be whole in the sight of GOD; that we be not likened to a broken down city without walls as it was said in this verse:
[28] He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.

Let us be among the wise who diligently seek daily that hidden man of GOD in us.

Let GOD in The Name Of The LORD JESUS CHRIST be glorified in our lives.

Have a pleasant day to all !

Proverbs 25:1-28 KJV

[1] These are also proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied out. [2] It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter. [3] The heaven for height, and the earth for depth, and the heart of kings is unsearchable. [4] Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer. [5] Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness. [6] Put not forth thyself in the presence of the king, and stand not in the place of great men : [7] For better it is that it be said unto thee, Come up hither; than that thou shouldest be put lower in the presence of the prince whom thine eyes have seen. [8] Go not forth hastily to strive, lest thou know not what to do in the end thereof, when thy neighbour hath put thee to shame. [9] Debate thy cause with thy neighbour himself ; and discover not a secret to another: [10] Lest he that heareth it put thee to shame, and thine infamy turn not away. [11] A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. [12] As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear. [13] As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refresheth the soul of his masters. [14] Whoso boasteth himself of a false gift is like clouds and wind without rain. [15] By long forbearing is a prince persuaded, and a soft tongue breaketh the bone. [16] Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it. [17] Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbour's house; lest he be weary of thee, and so hate thee. [18] A man that beareth false witness against his neighbour is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow. [19] Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint. [20] As he that taketh away a garment in cold weather, and as vinegar upon nitre, so is he that singeth songs to an heavy heart. [21] If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink: [22] For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the Lord shall reward thee. [23] The north wind driveth away rain: so doth an angry countenance a backbiting tongue. [24] It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman and in a wide house. [25] As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country. [26] A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring. [27] It is not good to eat much honey: so for men to search their own glory is not glory. [28] He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.
