Before Honor is Humility

February 21, 2018- Wednesday-#625- Daily Bible Reading and Meditation- Proverbs 18 KJV

***Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility.***

[7] A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.

[8] The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

[9] He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.

[10] The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

[12] Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility.

[13] He that answereth a matter before he heareth it , it is folly and shame unto him.

[19] A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle.

[22] Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing , and obtaineth favour of the Lord .

[23] The poor useth intreaties; but the rich answereth roughly.

[24] A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

Words to ponder for today:

Before Honor is Humility

Humility: biblical godly attitude or or choosing to be humble like Christ.

God says when you are humble, you are free from pride and arrogance. You know that in your flesh you are inadequate, yet you also know who you are in Christ.
Humility is recognizing that you need God’s help, knowing you can’t truly succeed in your own strength. It is thanking God for your talents and gifts, and giving him credit for your accomplishments.
It is being comfortable with who you are in Christ and seeking to build others up, not yourself. It is gratefully walking in God’s grace, love, and forgiveness.

The difference of Character and attitude; according to Psychology:
“Character is the expression of one's Values and Integrity. Whereas Attitude is an approach or outlook one has on the world or a Problem faced by him. ... Attitude is purely psychological thing.A mental habits get to gather to form attitude. It is deep rooted in unconscious.
Character is the very essence of a particular man. It is indeed what the person is within. It is not liable to sudden change. Attitude is liable to change according to the situation. It is after all a kind of surface emotion.”

Character, behavior, and evil deeds  can be change by Humility: (Godly attitude)

The Fool’s, The talebearers/ gossipers Mouth:
cursing, jesting, bullying, mocking, gossiping, slandering- when one’s heart fears and love The LORD, he shall then teach himself to use his mouth to uplift others’ souls and become the channel of knowledge and the words spoken are for righteousness , truthfulness and understanding.

2. The slothful, the contentious, The adulterers, the proud, the arrogant, the unfriendly: these are all the works of the flesh. These behavioral deeds are disgraceful and sinful. It drags others lives  into pain and miseries. Many people lives are ruined because of this evil works. But it can  be overcome through changing of will, and disposition. And it will only happen if he or she realize there is nothing who can provide a powerful help to change but GOD.
It was written herewith:
[10] The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

This is Humility.
When sinners come to realize their need of GOD, repent from their sin, Receive GOD’s gift of salvation through His Only Begotten Son JESUS CHRIST, it will be counted for their righteousness. They will call upon GOD, come closer to Him, casting all their sins and weaknesses upon HIM, He surely will forgive and heal them. They will then be called God’s sons. They will then be honored by GOD Himself. And they will wake up one day; the old sinful nature, which is full of sorrows and shame because of their sin, are gone and the burdens became lighter. The memories of yesterday will not hunt them anymore, but  it will help them to become a better person not for their self-uplifting but  for the glory of The LORD, The True GOD and Savior JESUS CHRIST.
I have personally realized that honor starts when I learned to humble down myself before GOD.
I learn to accept my errors and wrong doings. I repented from it, and have believed that the forgiveness of my sin is only from GOD who is able to give me peace, discretion and understanding.
Now, I can testify: before HONOR is HUMILITY.

And humility is an attitude that we must pursue and practice. If we learn to love and trust GOD before ourselves, Then surely, HE will honor us; gives us peace and rest in this wearily world we live.

To GOD be all the praises!
Good day!

Proverbs 18:1-24 KJV

[1] Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom. [2] A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself. [3] When the wicked cometh, then cometh also contempt, and with ignominy reproach. [4] The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook. [5] It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to overthrow the righteous in judgment. [6] A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes. [11] The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit. [12] Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility. [13] He that answereth a matter before he heareth it , it is folly and shame unto him. [14] The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear? [15] The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge. [16] A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men. [17] He that is first in his own cause seemeth just; but his neighbour cometh and searcheth him. [18] The lot causeth contentions to cease, and parteth between the mighty. [19] A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle. [20] A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. [21] Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. [22] Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing , and obtaineth favour of the Lord . [23] The poor useth intreaties; but the rich answereth roughly. [24] A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
