The Destruction of Tyre

April 21, 2018- Saturday-#681 Daily Morning Bible Reading and Meditation- Isaiah 23 KJV

***The Lord of hosts hath purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, and to bring into contempt all the honourable of the earth. ***

[1] The burden of Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of Chittim it is revealed to them.

[5] As at the report concerning Egypt, so shall they be sorely pained at the report of Tyre.

[6] Pass ye over to Tarshish; howl, ye inhabitants of the isle.

[8] Who hath taken this counsel against Tyre, the crowning city , whose merchants are princes, whose traffickers are the honourable of the earth?

[9] The Lord of hosts hath purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, and to bring into contempt all the honourable of the earth.

[17] And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the Lord will visit Tyre, and she shall turn to her hire, and shall commit fornication with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth.

[18] And her merchandise and her hire shall be holiness to the Lord : it shall not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise shall be for them that dwell before the Lord , to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.

Words to ponder for today:

The Destruction of Tyre.

According to google:
“Tyre is an ancient Phoenician city and the legendary birthplace of Europa and Dido (Elissa). Today it is the fourth largest city in Lebanon after Beirut, Tripoli and Sidon. and houses one of the nation's major ports. Tourism is a major industry.”

It can easily be understood why the great destruction allowed by GOD to happen. It is in its nature, being the center of merchants. All kinds of trading are within Tyre, being the center point of commerce.  Princes and acting like princes met there together to trade. Legal and illegal, common and uncommon; all merchants come in for one purpose: to gain riches from engaging in its mercantile and do all the things money can pay.
And it is the nature of men to try everything new and pleasurable in this earth; as they says, “ sky is the limit”. Giving in to seductions and alluring sensation; recompensing and indulging  themselves of what they thought they are entitled to such “goodness”.
The flagrant immorality are highly coveted; for overwhelming fleshly  sensation which money can buy,  such as wine, gambling and sexual pleasures drown men to destruction, distress and delusions; ushering them away from the fear of The LORD.
This is the reason why GOD allowed Tyre even Sidon to be invaded and destroyed.
Even if in the time of David, Tyre and Sidon have  been Israel’s allies in building the kings houses and the Holy Temple of GOD, they became worst in the sight of GOD because they willfully debarked  from the fear of The LORD; for they were dismayed and deluded upon seeing GOD’s own people Israel turn their back from The LORD they served. The simplicity of Tyre and Sidon were greatly influenced by its invaders; Egypt and Babylon in their idolatrous way of living. Henceforth leads them astray into the world of pride and immorality, that causes the hand of GOD heavily fall upon them; destroyed them to desolation.
These things happened when their godly alliance turns away and change their godly behavior into worldly adaption. They are overwhelmed and turn away from following the basic rules which is comes from the bible.

This things also happened to some countries, even to Philippines in this present era; which were invaded and conquered by powerful nations. Our people adapted their pernicious and plunderous practices, that greatly diminished our moral piety, prudence and purity. Immorality became normal and rampant; both gender were and are mentally defocussed and displaced; manipulated to accept and adapt to changes, which subtle purpose is to be blinded in recognizing the truth about GOD. Young people are overly adventurous at an early age engaging themselves into adult’s erroneous practices.  Children are raised with lesser, if not totally void in understanding moral values; which is patterned and comes from the word of GOD..

Wake up fellow people of this world! If we will not open our mind and our eyes to see how the world ushers us into destruction, by allowing, accepting and adapting into the unnatural and ungodly ways, which was subtly lead us; our young, our children to sinful, immoral practices, then we will one day wake up desolated and destroyed.
GOD our Creator is righteous and holy GOD. Although He is The GOD of love, His righteous judgment shall be carry forth that people should know, we are not of our own; that The Sovereign GOD, and All Powerful Creator, set time for judgement.
Let not the destruction of Tyre befall among us. Let us not our land be desolate because of our fearlessness in GOD and frowardness of our heart.

Repent and reject pride.
Return to call upon GOD.
Receive His words and live according to His righteousness.
Refrain from the ruinous destruction of evil thoughts, malignity and unbelief.
Render to The LORD all glory, praises and honor by accepting, believing and calling only upon Him through The most holy name of His Only Beloved Son JESUS CHRIST.

Be resolved today!

Good morning!

 Isaiah 23:1-18 KJV

[1] The burden of Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of Chittim it is revealed to them. [2] Be still, ye inhabitants of the isle; thou whom the merchants of Zidon, that pass over the sea, have replenished. [3] And by great waters the seed of Sihor, the harvest of the river, is her revenue; and she is a mart of nations. [4] Be thou ashamed, O Zidon: for the sea hath spoken, even the strength of the sea, saying, I travail not, nor bring forth children, neither do I nourish up young men, nor bring up virgins. [5] As at the report concerning Egypt, so shall they be sorely pained at the report of Tyre. [6] Pass ye over to Tarshish; howl, ye inhabitants of the isle. [7] Is this your joyous city , whose antiquity is of ancient days? her own feet shall carry her afar off to sojourn. [8] Who hath taken this counsel against Tyre, the crowning city , whose merchants are princes, whose traffickers are the honourable of the earth? [9] The Lord of hosts hath purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, and to bring into contempt all the honourable of the earth. [10] Pass through thy land as a river, O daughter of Tarshish: there is no more strength. [11] He stretched out his hand over the sea, he shook the kingdoms: the Lord hath given a commandment against the merchant city , to destroy the strong holds thereof. [12] And he said, Thou shalt no more rejoice, O thou oppressed virgin, daughter of Zidon: arise, pass over to Chittim; there also shalt thou have no rest. [13] Behold the land of the Chaldeans; this people was not, till the Assyrian founded it for them that dwell in the wilderness: they set up the towers thereof, they raised up the palaces thereof; and he brought it to ruin. [14] Howl, ye ships of Tarshish: for your strength is laid waste. [15] And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing as an harlot. [16] Take an harp, go about the city, thou harlot that hast been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered.
