***Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord !***
[1] Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord !
[2] Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.
[6] Turn ye unto him from whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted.
[7] For in that day every man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made unto you for a sin.
[9] And he shall pass over to his strong hold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid of the ensign, saith the Lord , whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.
Words to ponder for today:
Woe to Them That Goes Down to Egypt for Help; Stay on Horses, Trust in Chariot
GOD’s chosen people Israel were doomed because they preferred Egypt to have asked help, from the attacking force of Assyrian, they have relied on the multitude of their horses and trust on the security of their chariots. And these things have provoked their GOD to intense anger and wrath.
In the book of Exodus, the first and foremost commandment of GOD to them is to have none other gods but HIM:
Exodus 20:1-6 KJV
[1] And God spake all these words, saying,
[2] I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
[3] Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
[4] Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
[5] Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
[6] And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
Asking help from men and trusting other strength than GOD is an extreme rebellion in GOD’s sight. It is a pronouncement of unbelief. It is like telling others that GOD does not exist.
In this present life we are living, wherein the Holy King James Bible can be easily and freely acquired, it is more than what the children of Israel did, in provoking GOD, to refuse and to reject GOD’s words. For indeed, this book is made by men, but the words written in it is as powerful as the GOD’s spoken words when relied upon and wholeheartedly believed. There is no other book that stood the grievous test of time than the King James Bible who never losses its power to them who made it as the basis of their faith and practices.
If we are to apply in this present life:
Egypt depicted powerful nations.
Horses typify strength.
Chariots characterized security.
“[1] Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord !”
Woe to them that put their trust in the power of great nations, stay upon their strength, and trust in the security they offers to give; but do not look upon GOD, The Holy One of Israel, Whom is The LORD JESUS CHRIST; The Giver of power to these great nations, whom are also subjected to His inevitable judgement.
Both them that ask help and them who are proud to become the giver of help shall fall and none shall stand on that day of The LORD.
The Holy One of Israel, The LORD JESUS CHRIST is calling to all people, young and old, strong and weak, male and female:
“[6] Turn ye unto him from whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted.”
The Jews heavily revolted and rejected The LORD JESUS CHRIST, as it was written in the book of John 1:11 He came unto His own, and His own receive Him not.
But to us Gentiles, was given that privilege to become GOD’s children through the faith of our LORD and Savior JESUS CHRIST.
As it was written in the Epistle of Apostle Paul to the Galatians 3:26-29 KJV
[26] For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
[27] For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
[28] There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
[29] And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
This is a great privilege for us people to come and call upon This Great GOD and Savior JESUS CHRIST, to Whom is given all the power to forgive the repentant sinners, to give them strength in the days of adversity, to keep them safe and secure unto life eternal.
Call only upon His Name.
Come to Him in Prayer.
Cast your cares upon Him for He cares for you today, tomorrow and forever.
2 Peter 3:9 KJV
[9] The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Good morning!
Isaiah 31:1-9 KJV
[1] Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord ! [2] Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity. [3] Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the Lord shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fail together. [4] For thus hath the Lord spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the Lord of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof. [5] As birds flying, so will the Lord of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver it; and passing over he will preserve it. [6] Turn ye unto him from whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted. [7] For in that day every man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made unto you for a sin. [8] Then shall the Assyrian fall with the sword, not of a mighty man; and the sword, not of a mean man, shall devour him: but he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall be discomfited. [9] And he shall pass over to his strong hold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid of the ensign, saith the Lord , whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.
