They Forsook The LORD GOD of Their Father And Provoke Him To Anger

April 16, 2020- Thursday-#213- Daily Bible Reading and Meditation- Old Testament Judges 2 KJV

***[12] And they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the Lord to anger. ***

[11] And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and served Baalim:

[12] And they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the Lord to anger.

[13] And they forsook the Lord, and served Baal and Ashtaroth.

[14] And the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of spoilers that spoiled them, and he sold them into the hands of their enemies round about, so that they could not any longer stand before their enemies.

[15] Whithersoever they went out, the hand of the Lord was against them for evil, as the Lord had said, and as the Lord had sworn unto them: and they were greatly distressed.

Words to ponder for today:

And They Forsook The LORD GOD of Their Father and Provoked Him To Anger

Bowing down and worshipping idols is forsaking GOD and provoking Him to anger. These things has been the sin of the children of Israel after the death of their great-in -faith -in -The -LORD GOD, their mighty general Joshua.
And their distress started when they turned their back, away from serving the true GOD.

This have been the error of most people of this world. They easily believed a lie about enchantment and false religions. Bowing down to idols which they called gods and calling a man in white robe a father, is more convenient and convincing for them, than to search out the truth about  who The True GOD is.
Listen people!

Forsaking to know who the true GOD is, and bowing down unto idols and worshipping other gods than Him; in SPIRIT and in TRUTH, is provoking Him to anger.
The reason why almost all the whole world now is in distress because The True GOD, The Creator of all is provoked to anger because of the godlessness of this humanity.
If only everybody will know GOD’s commandment, meditate upon it day and night, and apply it in daily living, GOD’s wrath will then be appeased.
Know then the right commandments of The LORD as how it is in truth written:

Exodus 20:1-17 KJV

[1] And God spake all these words, saying, [2] I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
[3] Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

[4] Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: [5] Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
[6] And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

[7] Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

[8] Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. [9] Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: [10] But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: [11] For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

[12] Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

[13] Thou shalt not kill.

[14] Thou shalt not commit adultery.

[15] Thou shalt not steal.

[16] Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

[17] Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.”

Question all should ponder:
Are we really serving and worshipping the true GOD?
Does the understanding about the law of GOD and our worship to Him aligned with this law He has given?
You can check it out.
The LORD GOD is a jealous GOD. He wanted that all people worship Him in Spirit and in truth. Otherwise, He will send all forms of distress so that people will seek to know Him.

Forsake not GOD.
Provoke Him not to anger.
Call upon Only Him in prayers.
Cleave to the Only True GOD in The Name of His Only Begotten Son JESUS CHRIST and let us all be victorious in the battle we are facing now.
Let us all be saved today and be blessed forever!

Good morning!

Judges 2:1-23 KJV
[1] And an angel of the Lord came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you. [2] And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice: why have ye done this? [3] Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto you. [4] And it came to pass, when the angel of the Lord spake these words unto all the children of Israel, that the people lifted up their voice, and wept. [5] And they called the name of that place Bochim: and they sacrificed there unto the Lord. [6] And when Joshua had let the people go, the children of Israel went every man unto his inheritance to possess the land. [7] And the people served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the Lord, that he did for Israel. [8] And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died, being an hundred and ten years old. [9] And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnath-heres, in the mount of Ephraim, on the north side of the hill Gaash. [10] And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the Lord, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel. [11] And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and served Baalim: [12] And they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the Lord to anger. [16] Nevertheless the Lord raised up judges, which delivered them out of the hand of those that spoiled them. [17] And yet they would not hearken unto their judges, but they went a whoring after other gods, and bowed themselves unto them: they turned quickly out of the way which their fathers walked in, obeying the commandments of the Lord ; but they did not so. [18] And when the Lord raised them up judges, then the Lord was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: for it repented the Lord because of their groanings by reason of them that oppressed them and vexed them. [19] And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they returned, and corrupted themselves more than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them, and to bow down unto them; they ceased not from their own doings, nor from their stubborn way. [20] And the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel; and he said, Because that this people hath transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened unto my voice; [21] I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations which Joshua left when he died: [22] That through them I may prove Israel, whether they will keep the way of the Lord to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not. [23] Therefore the Lord left those nations, without driving them out hastily; neither delivered he them into the hand of Joshua.
