Lesson #25 Hebrew Name for JESUS: YESHUA
“1The burden of the word of the Lord for Israel, saiththe Lord, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeththe foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.
10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.”
Topic: They Shall Look Upon Me Whom They Have Pierced
Prior to this chapter, Prophet Zechariah prophesied how the grace of GOD was broken from the house of Israel; and the cost of how much is the man in JESUS or YESHUA was being sold; and that they knew: it was the word of The LORD:
Zechariah 11:11-13 KJV
“11 And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the Lord.
12 And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.
13 And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord.”
Moreover, in this chapter, it was prophesied that the day is coming; when the people of Israel shall mourn and tremble upon seeing the man they rejected, the man they reviled and the Man-GOD whom they refused to accept, as The Messiah and their GOD: of whom even before the beginning of their remarkable history, He was already there, guiding and leading, and following them.
Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthian 10 KJV
“[3] And did all eat the same spiritual meat; [4] And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.”
During the crucifixion of The LORD, there is indeed mourning upon His disciples; that GOD The Father also caused the sun to ceased from giving light. As if He turned away His eyes from seeing His Only Beloved Son; that until The LORD yielded up the ghost, there was darkness; that even the veil of the temple was rent from top to the bottom. This was recorded for JESUS’ or Yeshua’s disciples to remember what He taught them while He was yet with them.
This was the very word of The LORD: Matthew 20:18KJV
“Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,”
Matthew 27:45KJV “Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.
46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
47 Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias.
48 And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.
49 The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.
50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. 51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;”
According to the book of Zechariah, the pre incarnate Deity of The LORD: named JESUS for us Gentiles and YESHUA for Hebrews, He :
41 And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,
42 Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.
43 For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,
44 And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation. “
This is a fulfilled prophesy we are looking back more than two thousand years ago, of which the majority of GOD’s people refused to accept, is for us our only Blessed Hope. And what we are looking forward is His second coming to reign; be crown as King, and at the same time our High Priest.
But before His millennial reign, herein is written that there will be a great mourning on the following verse, which is obviously to be the great tribulation; named in the bible “Jacob’s trouble.”
Jeremiah 30KJV
“6 Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?
7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.
8 For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him:”
Zechariah 12 KJV
“11 In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.
12 And the land shall mourn, every family apart; the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart;
13 The family of the house of Levi apart, and their wives apart; the family of Shimei apart, and their wives apart;
14 All the families that remain, every family apart, and their wives apart.”
After they rejected and reviled The LORD of grace, GOD’s plan changed.
The Yeshua of the seed of David; from the tribe of Judah: called The Lion of Judah is our LORD JESUS CHRIST. Our Savior and we are waiting for His appearing in the cloud to take us, before that great tribulation.
It is written In 1 Thessalonians 4KJV
“13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”
He is still calling for repentance.
He stands with our side to rebuke Satan.
He will return as He promised.
Let JESUS CHRIST; The YESHUA of The Jews be in the center of our heart, and that He should be our:
Yearnings- Psalm 62
1Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.
2 He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.
Yieldings-Philippians 4
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Let us all keep on studying His words, that we may know Him more and more.
Zechariah 12KJV
1The burden of the word of the Lord for Israel, saiththe Lord, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeththe foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.
2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
4 In that day, saith the Lord, I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness.
5 And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the Lord of hosts their God.
6 In that day will I make the governors of Judah like anhearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.
7 The Lord also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves against Judah.
8 In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord before them.
9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
11 In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.
12 And the land shall mourn, every family apart; the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart;
13 The family of the house of Levi apart, and their wives apart; the family of Shimei apart, and their wives apart;
14 All the families that remain, every family apart, and their wives apart.
