One is your Master, Even CHRIST-Matthew 23

December 2, 2023- Morning Bible Reading and Meditation- Matthew 23KJV

“8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.

And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.”

Words to ponder for today:

One is your Master, Even CHRIST

“Called no man master, for one is Master; and He is CHRIST.

Call no man father, (except for your earthly, biological father), for One should be called Father, and He is GOD the Father.”

These words came out from the very mouth of JESUS the CHRIST.

He is our only Master.

For there has never been an ordinary, common person who speaks as He has spoken in a great multitude without using loud speaker, who stroll in the surface of sea water like as if He is walking on the dry ground, who singled out the scribes and Pharisees in a form of sharp rebuke as He has done in this chapter; stating their wickedness; their conceited ways and extremely evil use of their powers such as these:

• How they exercise preeminence while being in authority. v2-4
• Their pretentious good deeds as just showing off. v5
• Their obsession for preference and praises. v 6,7
• Their pompousness prevented people to come and enter the temple of GOD. v 13
• Provoking the proselytes to become evil the more than they have not yet been convertedwhile taking advantage of the widows weaknesses; devouring their houses by uttering pretentious long prayers. v14,15
• Promoting greediness for wealth than faithful godliness. v16-22
• Imposing strict law in paying tithes as they themselves did, but putting aside judgement, mercy and faith. v 23,24
• Portraying to be holy by making their outward appearance pure and clean, but their inner-self is full of filthiness and hypocrisy. v 25-28
• Playing the role of a compassionate servants of GOD, by making the tomb of the prophets cleanly painted, but hypocritically showing off to the crowd their own righteousness; the which they did to The LORD of Light: in hypocrisy they called JESUS Master, but in their heart they did not acknowledge Him as their Messiah, LORD and Everlasting King; and in unbelief and harheartedness they had planned to bring Him to counsel to persecute and crucify Him. v29-35

JESUS knew it all.

He is able to see the inner thoughts of every man. And as the righteous judgement Giver, He already has warned them. But instead of hearkening to His fiery and extensive warnings, they took it to their hearts and agreed to themselves: they took all those words of The LORD of Life against Him.

Thus, they invited the sorest punishment to themselves as the LORD has already spoken to them:

“37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.”

Let these things that happened and was written be for a warning and admonition to us all.

The LORD of lords JESUS CHRIST plainly with sharpnesssaid it to all leaders in His time.

Not because He just wanted to rebuke them, but because He has the power and authority to speak to them; as theOnly One whom all should call Master.

As He is an all-knowing Son of GOD, He knew everything that must and should come to happen.

He already did come, and He is to come again the second time, to fulfill what has left undone and His unfinished earthly dealing.

But the next time He come, it will never be the same.

For He will come with His full authority and power: The Master, and His Mighty sword is with Him.

To give recompense to all wickedness, evil-doers and abominable ways of living.

Let our hearts be tenderly consumed by His grace and love freely given to us-ward now; that we will not hardened our hearts and our stubborn mind be subjected in humility, and in meekness we will take charge and do our part to win the lost for CHRIST.

And for all who have not yet been converted in His love;

Be willing to:

Admit that you are a sinner and you need grace to be saved.

Acknowledge JESUS CHRIST as the Only Savior, who shed on that cross His sinless blood,

Accept Him as your Only Savior, the sinless offering for your sin: The Only Begotten Son of GOD.

Pray a sinner prayer:

Realize you are a sinner and your depravity restrain you from entering into heaven.

Repent from your sin;

Reject all of your own ideas about God and self-righteousness.

Recognize that there is Only One way, One truth and One life: Only through JESUS CHRIST

Receive GOD’s gift of salvation in JESUS CHRIST with meekness and lowliness as of a child.

Be saved today and be free from the bondage of sin.

Have a life of peace and joy in knowing and believing that you are among the beloveds of GOD who are bound to heaven!

Good morning!

Matthew 23KJV

23 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,

Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:

All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.

For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,

And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,

And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.

But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.

And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.

11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.

12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

16 Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoevershall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!

17 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?

18 And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty.

19 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?

20 Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.

21 And whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.

22 And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.

23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

24 Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.

25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.

26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.

27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.

28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

29 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,

30 And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.

31 Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.

32 Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.

33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:

35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.

36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.

37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
