Being Grieve- for the hardness of their heart

January 8, 2024- Morning Bible Reading and Meditation- Mark 3 KJV

For Mithcah Bible Baptist Church- BahrainMorning Devotional Bible Study (January 9, 2024)

“5 And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.

And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.”

Words to ponder for today:

Being Grieve- for the hardness of their heart

This chapter 3 from the book of Mark, depicted the emotions of The LORD; as He look around them in anger, while He discerned the thoughtsthey have in mind, and the reaction He saw from these unbelieving people; while He is teaching the crowd who were as sheep without shepherd; whohungered to hear the word of God, and while he compassionately heal the sick and those personswith disabilities (pwd).

➢ He got Angry
➢ He is in Anguish –(He grieve), distress, because of the hardness of their heart.

because, instead of accepting Him as the Sent One from heaven, they watched Him to accuse Him.

SuchI have posted days ago on my facebookwall this instances:

“3 And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand.

2 And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.”

People who come to listen to the preaching and teaching of the Word of GOD, and to watch the marvelous works He has been doing have two different motives: some are to accuse the Word of GOD, and some are there to accept Himwholeheartedly, soulfully and thoughtfully. For TheLORD knows. These have two opposite effect, result and destination to both watchers and hearers: the first is to eternal perdition, the second is to everlasting pardon.

Choose wisely.

We only have one short life to live.

Live it for GOD, with GOD and in GOD. There’s more to it than what we expected!

➢ He has been Anxious- (He counted on His disciples’ presence to wait on Him because of the great multitude coming to Him for healing). Not because He can’t protect Himself, but to let His disciples know that as 100% human as He is, He should only take as much as He can at the very moment He is yet with them.Implying also to us believers that The LORD count on us to wait on Him because there are still multitude needed to hear His words.

“9 And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him.

10 For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues.”

Crowd came from different places not to seek Him as The Son of GOD, but because He heals theirsicknesses.

They thronging JESUS for what they can get, but they are not there to give Him honor nor there to worship.

But when He was crucified, no one dare to come closer to him, but looked on him with mockery; wagging their head.

Most people are like those crowd; they will keep pressing on a person because he or she is badly needed.

But when a person turns out to be the one whos in need of help from a friend, no one will be wholeheartedly willing to spend time to listen; no one cares, nor stand in the gap to help make a bridge.

Yet despite these distresses The Good LORD suffered, He never yield to attest His true self. For when those scribes who came down from Jerusalem said He has Beelzebub, the prince of the devils,

➢ He affirmed to the people in His teaching about Him saying these words:

22 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.

23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?

24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.

27 No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.

Then He admonished them, by giving this warning:

28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:

29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.

30 Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.

During The LORD’s earthly ministries, even His biological brothers didn’t believe Him. That this is written in this book of John 7KJV

“1 After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him.

Now the Jew's feast of tabernacles was at hand.

His brethren therefore said unto him, Departhence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.

For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world.

For neither did his brethren believe in him.

Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready.

The very reason why He said in the last verses of this chapter:

31 There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him.

32 And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.

33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?

34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!

35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

The LORD got angry, in aguish, anxious yet attested and affirmed His true self. And in Hisagony on that cross, He boar all our sorrows and woes.

But who are we to JESUS? Who are we among the people? Are we among the disciples, or the scribes, or the physical brothers of the LORD in His earthly ministry?

Are we like those crowd; who keep pressing on JESUS because He is badly needed to heal our sicknesses or because we are in deep need?

But turns our back to the one who’s in need of help from a friend, nor we willingly to wholeheartedly spend time to listen; didn’t seem to care, to extend our hands, even stand in the gap to help make a bridge so that others may cross the raging flood?

Or are we among the willing disciples, who are eager to follow The LORD, listen and learn from His every words, and love Him with all our might, heart and soul?

There is indeed only One True Friend we can rely upon.

He is our Loving LORD AND Savior JESUS CHRIST, the one who grieved, because of hardheartedness. But though they succeeded from their evil deeds, yet the LORD victoriously conquered death; for He is the first One who raised Himself from the dead.

Come to Him.

Call upon His Name.

Cleave unto Him till the end.

He gives life; and He comfort the oppressed.

Let our faith in Him be settled.

Good morning.

Mark 3KJV

And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand.

And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.

And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth.

And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.

And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.

And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.

But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judaea,

And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him.

And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him.

10 For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues.

11 And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.

12 And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known.

13 And he goeth up into a mountain, and callethunto him whom he would: and they came unto him.

14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,

15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:

16 And Simon he surnamed Peter;

17 And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder:

18 And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite,

19 And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into an house.

20 And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.

21 And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself.
