Fear Not, little flock

Morning Bible Reading and Meditation from Luke 12KJV

For Mithcah Bible Baptist Church - Bahrain

32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

Words to ponder: Fear not, little flock

The People might have been thirsty, hungry and tired. Might not all of them have gone through, physically, but spiritually thirsty, hunger and tired. That, by any means, they did whatever it takes to satisfy their scarcity and weakenedspirit. And as they found this lively hope from hearing JESUS’ spoken words, seeing the miracles He did in healing the sick and evil possessed, it gives them ray of hope, that theyexcitedly followed Him wherever He goes. Left their daily courses of life behind, not minding being pressed and trodden byone after the other. Their earnest desire: they have to get closer, touch or even just to see JESUS and hear Him speaking to them His words that amazingly sooth their hearts and strengthened their beings

The verses have spoken their wanting to beamong the crowd; peradventure The Master whom they followed will perform miracles again; as they have seen Him performed healing and feeding the multitudes who followed Him.

These people are the very reason why The LORD came to earth.

That passionate love of The LORD, that He has to leave His throne and His troops of angels serving Him, for the sake of letting His people to know Him as the life, the Only way and the truth.

For some of us, it might have been easy to tell that JESUS’ Omnipotence draw people to Him; but to those who followed Him, who didn’t have the capacity to have in their hand a copy of the Scriptures, they might be wondering why His charm is irresistibly unavoidable; that harm nor hunger or being athirst does not matter to them, as long as they are around watching and listening JESUS. They must have not been had the feeling of hungering or thirsting while they are around Him.

And whatever The LORD has spoken, they are just there intently listening. No one dare to challenge Him; to argue with His teachings even if it seems radical and hard to bear.

These congregation of people were gathered together around the LORD, assembledthemselves together to listen to His words; the prognosis of the church the LORD built upon Himself after His death, burial resurrection and ascension.

And from the LORD’s teachings and spoken words to His disciples, and to those people gathered around Him, we should learn something from His following lessons:

1. Beware of Cover-ups “the leaven of the Pharisees” which is Hypocrisy

This Son of man JESUS came and speakswithout restriction. Giving heads up to the people that they should not fear those who uses their position to oppress the lowly people. Admonishing them that they should only fear the one who killed the body and send their souls to hell. So true to us; both spiritual leaders and the church: the true believers of Christ, we should beware of hypocrisy as well as cover ups: we who stand and teach should not use our offices to oppress the weak, nor feign righteousness. But wholeheartedly submit to the will of Him who gave us power, wisdom and understanding to lead. V.1-5

To the oppressors, be not afraid. For fear of men is going against the leading of the HOLY GHOST, Who was sent to them; teaching them what to say when they will be brought to the rulers and magistrates. The LORD sees, hears and listen. He is more concern about His disciple’s faith in Him and that He will not forgive blasphemy.  V.5-12 a lesson we must take heed and obey too.

2. Beware of Covetousnessso much love for riches and wealth drawn ones away from the grace of GOD. One came to ask The LORD to divide the inheritance for him and His brother. Then The LORD spoke the parable about rich fool, who think only about His wealth and how He will enlarge his storehouse; but the LORD’s wrath fall on him and took his life away. V.13-21 Let us beware not to become covetous but learn contentment and gratitude.

3. Beware of the Cares of this world- Becoming anxious of what tomorrow will be, what life should be and the things that are expected by them to be are nonsensible, from which The LORD said “fear not!” GOD the Father knows their needs; even us who follow the LORD. Sometimes we soaked ourselves in thinking what will happens next when the LORD said, live within the day, within our means and within the grace He has given. For worrying won’t do anything to help us solvproblem; but it will just magnify a lot of negativities in our thinking. He Encouraged them, even us, to trust Him who cares, even for the needs of the sparrows. V.22-34
4. Beware of concerns and be watchful of The LORD’s Coming- The LORD knows the frailty of the people. They will be swayed after He leave them. They will wander away again. They will become discourage and dismayed. Some of them will turn their back from following Him. But He promise He will come again, and He wanted them to know: as He gave them power to cast out devils, He also expect that they will remain the same. But the LORD knows we people are vulnerable and that our laxity often caught us unaware. That is why He gave this parable of the watching servant for us to always ponder. V.35-48

JESUS in His nature as God’s Son, has spoken to His disciples that He came to send fire to this earth; an unquenchable fire that will cause division to households. The fire which represent the HOLY SPIRIT which continually be burning until a heart is consumed. The fire which separate the wheat from the tares. This will happen when in the home some has establishedfaith in The LORD and others don’t believe. To this thing, we should always be watchful; if these happens right in our very eyes, pray the more for strength. Fear not, for The LORD surely is as always carrying us through, until we’ve finished the journey in our earthly lives.

We have to always keep in mind that the LORD came and many didn’t realize He is with them. The same way He will be back again and many still don’t believe Him. Many who mocked and made Him a laughing stock will wail in torment and agony. Just as The LORD made an example of the one caught by authority; he will never be delivered and well remain imprisoned until hepaid the last miteV.49-59 but to them who have not realized his wrongdoings, would not repent, who will deliver them?

Unless we, who are saved and have been pardoned by the Living GOD will do our job, no one will understand.

The very reason why we, as the church, have no time wasting moments to fear for the things that’s going on around us. If there are adversities that aimed to distract our focus in serving The LORD, cry to Him in prayer for strength and calmness of mind. Know that the enemy is fierce and working double time to deceived.

What we need to do is to trust and fear only TheLORD; trust that He is still in control and that He allows sometimes adversities to overrule, to test our faith and strengthen our hope in Him, that we should be watchful; for The LORD will come sooner than we think, and in one glimpse we are already with Him in the cloud.

1 Thessalonians 4KJB

13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Let us draw closer to Him and be always comforted by His words.

Good morning.

Luke 12

King James Version

12 In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.

Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?

But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:

But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.

10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.

11 And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:

12 For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.

13 And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.

14 And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?

15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:

17 And he thought within himself, saying, Whatshall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?

18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.

19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.

23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.

24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?

25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?

26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?

27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?

29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.

30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.

31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.

32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

35 Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;

36 And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.

37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.

38 And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.

39 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.

40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

41 Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?

42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?

43 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

44 Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.

45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;

46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

47 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?

50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!

51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

54 And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.

55 And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass.

56 Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?

57 Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?

58 When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.

59 I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite.
