“[9] And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

[10] He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.”

Lesson: Everlasting Habitation

The continuation of The Lord’s teachings from chapter 15; giving emphasis to eternal security: human’s everlasting life and salvation of soul from eternal destruction.

Let us take note the message The LORD wanted for each soul know:

1. V.1-9The LORD talked about the wicked but wise steward.
• when his master found out his dishonesty in his service to him that he is about to be terminated, he planned to secure his future habitation. it is called LEVERAGE
• He went to his master’s debtors and give each one of them absolution. It is called LENIENCY
2. v. 10-13 The LORD talked about Frugality and Faithfulness.
• The LORD’s test of faithfulnessif a person is faithful in small matters he surely will be faithful in bigger thing. For faithfulness is attributed to self- notability. For it is an integrity that is chosen over wealth. It is developed character to be faithful in little, that will also be responsible if entrustedbigger thing; whether be it relational matter, material or financial.v.10
• The LORD insinuate frugality for His servants; that if we serve with frugality our earthly master, the producer of “unrighteous mammon” we can be trusted with true riches which comes from heaven, otherwise, it will be the other way around. v.11,12
• Then finally, The LORD directly taught us,His hearers that we cannot serve two masters; either we choose to serve GOD or money. Implying to us that we should not let money to be our master; but money should be our servant; ushering us to do faithful service to our GOD: The Enabler and Giver of strength not only for the poor, but even to them who are not believers of GOD, but manage to acquire lots of mammon or money.
3. V.14-18 The LORD spoke to the Pharisees:the exponential hypocrites.
• They justified themselves over others, but GOD knows their hearts.
• That which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of GOD.
• Strengthening the bond of marriage in this verse; the LORD directly denounced divorce. Otherwise, the put away and the one who put away shall not marry another. Proving to the Pharisees that The LORD is above the law; even of the law given by Moses. V.18, John 1:17
4. V. 19-31 The LORD confirmed Heaven and Hell.
• The rich man, just because he is rich was not able to make it to heaven; but because in his life when He fared sumptuously, didn’t mind the things of heaven, norextend a helping hand, neither show empathy to the beggar Lazarusand to sum it all up, He didn’t give time to prepared for his eternal habitation. He selfishly lived lavishly and luxuriously enjoyed to himself alone the riches which the Lord has only entrusted to him. The mere facts that his name was not written in the book of life; for if it was, his name will be mentioned in the bible and his story will be different. Only Lazarus who fed himself from the crumbs that fall from the rich man’s table, who didn’t even care even if he was full of sores which was licked by the dogs. Lazarus seems to have his hope only in the LORD. He was comforted and the rich man was tormented.v.19-22
• After death man’s soul will then be carried to its eternal habitation: Hell for those name was not written in the book, Heaven if the name is lovingly written and mentioned by The LORDV.22,23
• There is a great gulf fixed in betweenHeaven and Hell. But souls will see each other, that he even talked with Abraham, begged and pleaded that Lazarus should be sent to his father’s house, to testify about heaven and hell to his five brothersV.24-28
• All senses of a person are alive: one can feel the extreme heat, the thirst and the agony of being burnt from the fire which cannot be quenched.   V.24
• Feeling of regrets and hoping there is still way that love ones will never came to Hell: the place of torment. Pleading that each one of the living love ones will repent for their souls to be spared. V.27,28
➢ Learning to LEVERAGE from this life is wisdom. All are given opportunity to prepare for each one eternal habitation.
➢ Loving Leniency or mercy is empathy which the LORD is well pleased in seeing us feel each other’s need, giving grace just as our Father in Heaven have forgiven our sins and iniquity, The LORD will not withhold good thing if He sees us wholeheartedly extendingmercy to others with sincerity. Thus, it helps us prepares our eternal habitation with our Loving GOD Almighty.
➢ Living in faithfulness and in frugality is for the prudent to have chosen life wisely: Choosing to serve GOD over mammon or money, and let money be the servant, not the other way around is for the wise hearted people. This ushers us to make our eternal habitation with rewards perfect eternal destiny.
➢ Life here on earth is not permanent; we will leave in GOD’s appointed time. So, let us not just be focused on earthly and fleshly comfort, even in living luxurious life. But let each one of us, take time to commune with GOD. That after knowing Him, accept, believe and call upon Him in the Name of The LORD and Savior JESUS CHRIST, we should faithfully serve Him with all our heart, soul and mind, because our name is written in the Heaven’s book of life.

IN the bible is written in Psalm 2 KJV

“7 I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

11 Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

HEBREWS 1KJB

God, who at sundry times and in diversmanners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotteninto the world, he saithAnd let all the angels of God worship him.

7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

8 But unto the Son he saithThy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

Matthew 3 KJV

16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Thank GOD! for our eternal habitation is already prepared in Heaven.

Let GOD in the Name of The LORD JESUS CHRIST be magnified forever!

Luke 16

King James Version

16 And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.

2 And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.

3 Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed.

4 I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.

5 So he called every one of his lord's debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owest thou unto my lord?

6 And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty.

7 Then said he to another, And how much owestthou? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore.

8 And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?

13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

14 And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.

15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knowethyour hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

18 Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marriethanother, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.

19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:

28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
