Thrn shall they see The Son of Man Coming

Online Devotional Bible Study Sept.19, 2024 

“[27] And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

 

[31] So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

[32] Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

[33] Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.”

 

Thoughts: Then Shall they see The Son of Man Coming

 

There are two specific topics which The LORD highlighted from this chapter. The church’s worshipping past and current controversial issue and GOD’s chosen people’s future event. The bible we’re holding now, from where we’ve got of what The LORD spoken words, name these two as the following:

 

1. The widow’s Offering- The Greater Giving for The LORD v.1-4

2. The Signs of the end of this age: The Great Gruesome Day before the coming of TheLORD. v5-32

 

These two guides us how we should give as we come to worship The LORD, and grasp with faith, to understand the things we should be watchful; that we may know how we ought to give our offerings in the church of GOD, even to know the signs for that great gruesome day before the coming of The LORD.

These are the things we should be watchful:

1. Our heart’s condition after we accepted The LORD JESUS.

        a. Are we wholeheartedly living for Him?

        b. Are we worshipping and giving glory to His Name?

        c. Are we giving back to Him the best portion of what we’ve got, from which, by the way, He has given?

2. Our mind’s comprehension while we are still living in this earth.

a. Are we aware that our body is the temple of the Holy Ghost and He knows even the content of our hearts? 

b. Do we have time to meditate God’s words,  listen to what He is trying to tell us and willing to obey His command? 

c. Does our mind willingly subjective to be filled with heavenly things or we still found pleasure in minding worldly thing?

These are the questions we must ponder that we should be watchful about; even these things that we should know. To be knowledgeable is advantageous for us; for we should be ready for the coming of the LORD; knowledgeable of these things which He taught His disciples: 

1. The event which happened to all disciples and followers of CHRIST after The LORD’s crucifixion: v.5-9,12-19

➢ They have been persecuted v.12

➢ They were brought to prisons

➢ Their own family betrayed them v.16

➢ They were hated by all v.17

2. The signs before the second coming of TheLORD. V. 10, 11, 20-26

➢ Wars, great earthquakes, famine, pestilences, fearful sight and great signs from heaven such as what was written in Revelations Chapter 6 about the six seals

3. The Coming of The Son of man will be seen by all. v.27

4. The redemption of the children of Jacob (Israel) v.28

5. The signs of the second coming. v. 29-32

➢ the sign of the budding “fig tree”

➢ Israel is likened unto fig tree

➢ This “generation (the generation when Israel is likened to a budding fig tree) will not pass away’; the coming of the Kingdom of GOD will be in this generation. 

6. The heaven and the earth will pass away, but The LORD’s words will not pass away. It will be fulfilled. V. 33

 

7. Take heed to not be overcharged with surfeiting and drunkenness. 

➢ over indulgence of food, wine and luxurious living.

➢ So much concerns and cares for this life: such as getting rich and stable. 

 

8. Watch and pray .

Luke 21:35-36 KJV - 35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

We have already received that blessed assurance from which The LORD’s people should be watchful yet and pray for; so that they will be worthy to scape these things which The LORD taught them. Blessed we are, because we don’t need to go through that great tribulation for us to be saved. For we are sealed by the HOLY SPIRIT, after we accepted what the Son of man: our LORD and Savior JESUS CHRIST: we are among the saints that will be taken up or will be raptured by The LORD, before GOD’s wrath on the earth be poured.

As Apostle Paul have written in   1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 KJV - 

“13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”

They shall see the Son of man coming with great glory. But we will be with Him soon; for He made a way for us to scape that great tribulation. 

So whatever trials, difficulties and sufferings we are going through this present time,  Be comforted with this words.
