Great Men Are Not Always Wise

August 14, 2017-Monday-#447 Daily Morning Bible Reading and Meditation-Job 32 KJV

***Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.***

[6] And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said, I am young, and ye are very old; wherefore I was afraid, and durst not shew you mine opinion.

[7] I said, Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom.

[8] But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.

[9] Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

Words to ponder for today:

Great Men Are Not Always Wise

I have found an interesting personality in this young man Elihu. As I assumed, He might be in his forties, while his circle of friends were in their sixties or above.
Besides the thoughts that he might have gain riches, and was one of the prudent men; as his circle of friends seems to be in the range of Job: financially stablished, well known, upright and in authority, from whom he loved to be in company with; from whom, for a possible reasons that he had learned many things and obtain wisdom and understanding.
The fact that no average man even on this present days is able to be away from his house that long, for financial and for family security reasons,  nor son can leave his father's house longer than he had stayed with his friends for more than a week, is a proof that he is independent, wealthy and in the range of  authority among his choice of company of friends.

But one that caught my attention is his being respectful and reserved in his speech; one that hold his tongue, yet intently listening to the discussion about the subject matter; yet, when he had perceived that there is an issue of faith to be resolved, but nobody hit the very point, he was moved to speak with integrity and understanding, expressing his own opinion, while recognizing his state as being the youngest among the group; careful in his words not to be rude nor disrespecting the olds.
Indeed, it is of a truth that great men are not always wise, neither do the aged understand fair judgement. Particularly, if the elders grew old with full of knowledge in the ways of this world within themselves; taking within them their worldly success and understanding, and use their experiences and accomplishment in their judgement to others.

True Great people even aged ones are expected to be wise in all of their thoughts, words and actions. Their words should be the source of understanding for the youth around them.
However, everyone among us believers, young or olds, are reminded to observe in what was written in the book of James:  James 1:19-20 KJV
[19] Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
[20] For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

Let the younger be resolved to speak unto the elders as Elihu. Yes, great, even aged people may not be always wise nor understand fair judgement, but they deserve to be honored and intreated.
Let us always be reminded of what was written by Apostle Paul to Timothy:
1 Timothy 5:1-3,17 KJV
[1] Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren;
[2] The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.
[3] Honour widows that are widows indeed.
[17] Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

A resolution to progress in life❤️

Good morning!

Job 32:1-22 KJV

[1] So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes. [2] Then was kindled the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram: against Job was his wrath kindled, because he justified himself rather than God. [3] Also against his three friends was his wrath kindled, because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job. [4] Now Elihu had waited till Job had spoken, because they were elder than he. [5] When Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, then his wrath was kindled. [10] Therefore I said, Hearken to me; I also will shew mine opinion. [11] Behold, I waited for your words; I gave ear to your reasons, whilst ye searched out what to say. [12] Yea, I attended unto you, and, behold, there was none of you that convinced Job, or that answered his words: [13] Lest ye should say, We have found out wisdom: God thrusteth him down, not man. [14] Now he hath not directed his words against me: neither will I answer him with your speeches. [15] They were amazed, they answered no more: they left off speaking. [16] When I had waited, (for they spake not, but stood still, and answered no more;) [17] I said , I will answer also my part, I also will shew mine opinion. [18] For I am full of matter, the spirit within me constraineth me. [19] Behold, my belly is as wine which hath no vent; it is ready to burst like new bottles. [20] I will speak, that I may be refreshed: I will open my lips and answer. [21] Let me not, I pray you, accept any man's person, neither let me give flattering titles unto man. [22] For I know not to give flattering titles; in so doing my maker would soon take me away.
