October 1, 2017- Sunday-495 Daily Morning Bible Reading and Meditation- Psalm 38 KJV
***Make haste to help me, O LORD my salvation.***
[1] O Lord , rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.
[2] For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore.
[3] There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.
[4] For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
[9] Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.
[10] My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.
[11] My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off.
[13] But I, as a deaf man , heard not; and I was as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.
[17] For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me.
[18] For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.
[21] Forsake me not, O Lord : O my God, be not far from me.
[22] Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.
Words to ponder for today:
O LORD, My Salvation
The Psalmist herein expressed the sorrow and heaviness of heart a sinners suffers emotionally, mentally and physically.
Yet, in his agony, he recognized and most assured of the salvation he have in his LORD.
He then came to ponder in his heart the heaviness of being guilty from the sins committed; from which he recognized was the cause of the deterioration of his entire being .
-The grievous sore all over his body.v. 2,7,8
-There was no soundness within his troubled mind.v.3
-There was no rest all over his bones.v.3,4
- The heart panted, the strength failed, even his vision became dim v.10
- The lovers of him even his family are distant from him v.11
-The enemies were pressing hard against him. V. 12
This is the condition of a guilty sinners. Unless he will: * recognize the cause of all his troubles,
* realize his sinfulness condition and weaknesses,
* repent from his sin as the psalmist did; v. 18,
* reject self righteousness v.13,14
* resolved to be sorrowful about his sinful deeds; humbly turn to GOD as the Only one who forgives sin, fix all his troubles, fill all the emptiness and to fanned away all sorrow, sicknesses and the scornful.
Then and only then, he will be able to receive the saving grace of The LORD.
Unrepentant heart shall suffer greatly even unto death; that in death, the weary souls will never be at rest, for the reason of unbelief.
As it was written: Revelation 21:8 KJV
[8] But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Let us all approach the throne of GOD's grace that we may obtain mercy, forgiveness and grace; personally acknowledging our hopelessness, sinfulness and depravity; accepting the needs of A Mighty Savior as praying:
[21] Forsake me not, O Lord : O my God, be not far from me.
[22] Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.
Let the blessings of The LORD be not hindered.
Give time to meet and worship Him in His house today!
Good morning!
Psalm 38:1-22 KJV
[1] O Lord , rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. [2] For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore. [3] There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin. [4] For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me. [5] My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness. [6] I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long. [7] For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease : and there is no soundness in my flesh. [8] I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart. [12] They also that seek after my life lay snares for me : and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long. [13] But I, as a deaf man , heard not; and I was as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth. [14] Thus I was as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs. [15] For in thee, O Lord , do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God. [16] For I said, Hear me , lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me. [17] For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me. [18] For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin. [19] But mine enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied. [20] They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow the thing that good is . [21] Forsake me not, O Lord : O my God, be not far from me. [22] Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.
