GOD's Wondrous Works

November 6, 2017- Monday-#528 Daily Morning Bible Reading and Meditation - Psalm 71 KJV

***O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works.***

[1] In thee, O Lord , do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.

[2] Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me.

[3] Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.

[17] O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works.

[18] Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.

[19] Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high, who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee!

[20] Thou , which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth.

[21] Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.

[22] I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.

[23] My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.

[24] My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt.

Words to ponder for today:

God's Wondrous Works

The Psalmist plea.

The Author of this Psalm is obviously in great trouble and oppression from his cruel and wicked enemies, that his strength fails and he has nothing but his whole trust in the GOD of his salvation.
His only strength and confidence is that, as his GOD had delivered him before, out of the claw of his enemy and assailant, He shall also be delivered from the destructive, violent oppressions he is currently subjected in.
His previous experience of God's wondrous works gave him that confident that his GOD, The GOD of Israel is able and not willing that he should perish; and that He will make a way for him to scape and be delivered. For he remembered in his mind, that from his mother's womb, The hand of GOD passioned him up, provided for him his needs, protect him from all the tough and stiff courses of life, placed him in the rock of his refuge , and gave him power when he is without strength.

Even in the very moment fearsome thoughts as he gets older prostrates him : when his strength and sanity fails him as he had felt his becoming weaker, while seeing his enemies are stronger and still there waiting for an opportunity to knock him down. Nevertheless, the memories of GOD's wondrous works became the source of his confident; and that his supplication and earnest plea unto his GOD in prayer,  is to never let him  be put to confusion. V. 1

It is indeed a great relief and confidence to have known that there is a Real, True and Living GOD who is powerful and Omnipotent. It is even more  assured and secured to have witnessed His wondrous works in the lives of them who put their trust in Him.
To witness and experience the greatness of His mercy, compassion and deliverance is something that a person as vile as me, is already more than enough to testify GOD's wondrous works, that I cannot just keep silent.
As how the Psalmist in himself have declared GOD's wondrous works, so shall all of us, who have personally experienced that moments when GOD's personal and miraculous intervention have wrought deliverance, should testifies of His greatness whether we be young or old.

Let this testimony of Apostle Paul which he have written be our encouragement and be the enhancement of our faith in GOD:
Acts 20:19-24 KJV
[19] Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:
[20] And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you , but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house,
[21] Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
[22] And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:
[23] Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.
[24] But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

Let us not be confounded nor confused. But let each one of us be charged to convey GOD's wondrous works.

Have a pleasant morning to all!

Psalm 71:1-24 KJV

[1] In thee, O Lord , do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion. [2] Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me. [3] Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress. [4] Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man. [5] For thou art my hope, O Lord God : thou art my trust from my youth. [6] By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother's bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee. [7] I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge. [8] Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day. [9] Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth. [10] For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take counsel together, [11] Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him . [12] O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help. [13] Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt. [14] But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more. [15] My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof . [16] I will go in the strength of the Lord God : I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.
