GOD's Righteousness

November 7, 2017 -Tuesday-#529-Daily Morning Bible Reading and Meditation-Psalm 72 KJV

***Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king's son.***

[1] Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king's son.

[2] He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment.

[3] The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness.

[4] He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.

[5] They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations.

[6] He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth.

[7] In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth.

[17] His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.

[18] Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.

[19] And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.

Words to ponder for today:

GOD's Righteousness

A prayer of King David as he blesses his incoming king son,Solomon,  to whom he had given the reign of his kingdom. Succeeded is his prophetic declaration of the coming kingdom of his descendant King who is JESUS The CHRIST, who shall reign in righteousness, who shall judge righteously the poor and the needy; who shall bring peace upon the heart of men.

Matthew Henry's commentary introduction says:
David begins with a prayer for Solomon.
(1) He passes into a prophecy of the glories of his reign, and of Christ's kingdom.
(2-17) Praise to God. (18-20)

"This psalm belongs to Solomon in part, but to Christ more fully and clearly. Solomon was both the king and the king's son, and his pious father desired that the wisdom of God might be in him, that his reign might be a remembrance of the kingdom of the Messiah. It is the prayer of a father for his child; a dying blessing. The best we can ask of God for our children is, that God would give them wisdom and grace to know and to do their duty."

Noticeably is the fulfillment of the Mosaic law in Deuteronomy 28 to King David; wherein, from verses 1-14 are all the blessings given, having all performed and witnessed by the Psalmist, the godly King.  The following verses, from 15-68 have been done to the wicked descendant kings, even to King Solomon who have turn his back from obeying The LORD and worship the idols of his many wives; invited and brought in the curse of GOD, that separated the land of Judah from among his brethren, from the vast land of Israel.
Nonetheless, was the promised preservation of his kingdom performed by GOD unto him; when GOD's very own Begotten, Beloved Son JESUS CHRIST was born to his lineage, to be the sinless, ultimate sacrifice for the sin of the world, crucified, died, buried and rose again the third day, bringing the captivity captives, and is now seated at the right hand of GOD, watching the whole world, judging righteously as the Giver of life; waiting for His time to come back here on earth as testified by the angels among many witnesses:
Acts 1:10-11 KJV
[10] And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; [11] Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

This is the blessed hope of all the believers in Christ. The forgiveness of sin only CHRIST JESUS  is able to give, the righteousness imputed to all who received Him, being their personal LORD and Savior, The peace and comfort from His words in the midst of divers trouble, and the life everlasting with HIM in His Kingdom.
This is achievable by choosing to obey Him according to the following process:

*Realized you are a sinner.
Romans 3:10,23 KJV
[10] As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: [23] For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

*Repent from your sin.
Acts 17:30 KJV
[30] And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
2 Corinthians 7:10 KJV
[10] For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

*Reject all form of self righteousness and man made ideas of righteousness.
Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV
[8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
[9] Not of works, lest any man should boast.
- instead-

*Receive Only JESUS CHRIST as GOD's gift to be your personal LORD and Savior.

Romans 5:8 KJV
[8] But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
 Romans 6:23 KJV
[23] For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Be redeemed from the claw of the enemy.
Be rescued from the destructive wiles of the devil.
Be righteous through GOD's righteousness by the washing of regeneration of the blood of The LORD and Savior JESUS CHRIST that was shed on the cross.
Be reconciled to GOD today!

[18] Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.
[19] And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.

Psalm 72:1-20 KJV

[8] He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth. [9] They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust. [10] The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts. [11] Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him. [12] For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper. [13] He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy. [14] He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight. [15] And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised. [16] There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth. [20] The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.
