December 20, 2017-Wednesday-#571 Daily Morning Bible Reading and Meditation-Psalm 114 KJV
***Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;***
[5] What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?
[6] Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs?
[7] Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;
[8] Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
Words to ponder for today:
At The Presence of The GOD of Jacob
This short Psalm having 8 verses, depicted entirely the greatness and mighty power of The GOD of Jacob, from whom Israel came from. The faithfulness of GOD to His chosen man, to whom the promise of His Mighty deliverance, dominion and direction to his seeds is given.
"[5] What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?"
This verse entirely reflected the Mighty Power of GOD's Hand, that at His rebuke, the red sea, and the Jordan River parted and paved a dried land to make a way for His chosen nation Israel to be freed from the oppressive enslavement of Egypt.
How magnificent, amazing, wonderful and loving GOD Jacob have had!
For at His presence, the mountains and the hills fled away. In His Mighty Power, He had delivered Israel from the tormenting oppressions of the Egyptians, with His Great Goodness, He has preserved for them Canaan and have given them dominion over all their inheritance, and with His Divine Mercy and Compassion, He had directed their footsteps in the wilderness with the pillar of fire at night and a pillar of clouds in the daytime.
Great is He, The GOD of Jacob, for in His presence the natures trembled!
Disappointingly, GOD's very own people who are frail as a sheep, and who cannot even command the hair of their head to grow, became vain in their imagination. Their mind have wandered through wantonness and wanting for worldly pleasures and forsake the commandments of their GOD; living as if they are able to manage their own lives.
That, instead of proclaiming to the world the wondrous deeds of their GOD, as frailty as they are, they were carried away to worship idols and strange GOD.
This reflected also in the lives of GOD's people, to whom salvation is given and were gladly accepted. That after they were enlightened and have tasted the bountiful grace and tender mercies of The LORD, through His Only Begotten Son JESUS CHRIST, they were subtly carried away by the course of this world. Some are overdrawn by the overwhelming greatness and power of the principalities.
They willingly submit themselves to be enslave by the amazing progression of the heathen who do not accepted and believe in The LORD JESUS CHRIST. Little they knew that every power and dominion in this world is temporal; for at the rebuke of GOD's hand in His own time, these progression and possessions will all come to nothing.
Let all believers be patience to face all challenges and be wise to handle peer pressures. Let us all have the conviction to steadfastly look upon unto The Only True GOD. For nothing shall stand at the presence of The GOD of Jacob, when it is His time to show forth His power, but them only, who is looking unto The Author of our faith, The LORD JESUS CHRIST, and hope only in Him.
Hebrews 12:1-2,14-16 KJV
[1] Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us , and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
[2] Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
[14] Follow peace with all men , and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
[15] Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you , and thereby many be defiled;
[16] Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.
Let us not be envious of the greatness of the deeds of man, and exchange our birthright into this world's temporal glory; for we have a Great GOD whose power is Mighty, yet His compassion and tender-loving mercies are able to transform into strength all of our frailties.
Have a pleasant, blessed day ahead!
Good day
Psalm 114:1-8 KJV
[1] When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language; [2] Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion. [3] The sea saw it , and fled: Jordan was driven back. [4] The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs. [5] What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back? [6] Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs? [7] Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob; [8] Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
