December 27, 2017-Wednesday-#576-C Daily Morning Bible Reading and Meditation-Psalm 119:51-75 KJV
***It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.***
[51] The proud have had me greatly in derision: yet have I not declined from thy law.
[52] I remembered thy judgments of old, O Lord ; and have comforted myself.
[62] At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments.
[63] I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy precepts.
[66] Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments.
[67] Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.
[68] Thou art good, and doest good; teach me thy statutes.
[71] It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.
[73] Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments.
[74] They that fear thee will be glad when they see me; because I have hoped in thy word.
Words to ponder for today:
It Is Good For Me That I Have Been Afflicted
The Psalmist herein admitted his failure to keep himself to be steadfast and unmovable in The LORD, because of the affliction, oppression and pressures of the proud and haughty-hearted people.
And it is of a truth the debilitation of the human beings.
Nobody is so strong in faith that none would not be moved when baffled by the destructive derision of the enemies. It is like a constant dripping of water into the hard rock; that that rock would eventually be soften and be melted, as the ice is put under the heat of the sun.
It is the emotional vulnerability, the physical fragility and the mental limited capability of every human being to be susceptible; as to get provoked and engage into conflicts and quarrel. Them, who victoriously subdued their enemies and oppositions are becoming mighty; but the otherwise ended into repression and restrained. Hence, robbing them to express their right and invoke their cause.
But as what it has been quoted here by the Psalmist, it is good for me that I have been afflicted; because there is GOD and His unending and unfailing mercies. For after I realized my mistakes and misfortunes, and resolved to trust and call upon The LORD, His loving favour and limitless compassion became my strong tower and a place of refuge; a very help in times of need.
Thank GOD for giving me His Only Begotten Son JESUS CHRIST; for His victory over death and His resurrection help me conquered enslavement from sin and affliction inflected by my enemy.
Now I am free, and is able to testify how my LORD, had saved me; How He has lifted me up and been my joy and peace; He had me awakened me in times I am in great delusion.
I now can testify and encourage to share what Apostle Paul has written:
1 Corinthians 15:57 KJV
[57] But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Yes! It is good for me that I have been afflicted, for I am able to testify now that GOD, in the blessed Name of His Son JESUS CHRIST turns my testings into testimony, my failures into faith, and my vulnerability into victory.
Thanks be to GOD for His bountiful mercies!
If He had done thus to me, He also is able to do so to you. You just have to take Him at His words. As what Apostle Paul has written:
Romans 8:31-32 KJV
[31] What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
[32] He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
Take GOD and His Son Jesus Christ with you today.
Have a pleasant day ahead!
Psalm 119:51-75 KJV
[51] The proud have had me greatly in derision: yet have I not declined from thy law. [52] I remembered thy judgments of old, O Lord ; and have comforted myself. [53] Horror hath taken hold upon me because of the wicked that forsake thy law. [54] Thy statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage. [55] I have remembered thy name, O Lord , in the night, and have kept thy law. [56] This I had, because I kept thy precepts. [57] Thou art my portion, O Lord : I have said that I would keep thy words. [58] I intreated thy favour with my whole heart: be merciful unto me according to thy word. [59] I thought on my ways, and turned my feet unto thy testimonies. [60] I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments. [61] The bands of the wicked have robbed me: but I have not forgotten thy law. [62] At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments. [63] I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy precepts. [64] The earth, O Lord , is full of thy mercy: teach me thy statutes. [65] Thou hast dealt well with thy servant, O Lord , according unto thy word. [66] Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments. [67] Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word. [68] Thou art good, and doest good; teach me thy statutes. [69] The proud have forged a lie against me: but I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart. [70] Their heart is as fat as grease; but I delight in thy law. [71] It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes. [72] The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver. [73] Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments. [74] They that fear thee will be glad when they see me; because I have hoped in thy word. [75] I know, O Lord , that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me.
