January 29, 2018-Monday-#604- Daily Morning Bible Reading and Meditation-Psalm 147 KJV
***The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.***
[1] Praise ye the Lord : for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.
[3] He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
[4] He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.
[5] Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.
[6] The Lord lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.
[7] Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:
[8] Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.
[11] The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.
The LORD Takes Pleasure In Them That Fear Him
What good shall it bring to a person if he or she knows or not GOD The Creator?
Why did the Psalmist here penned down his ardent promptings that people should praise The LORD and sing praises unto GOD?
I do believe that it is because of the commissioning they received from The LORD their GOD; as they were the chosen generation, the royal priesthood, the peculiar people, to preach the truth about GOD. As what Apostle Peter has written: 1 Peter 2:9 KJV
[9] But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
This is why the Psalmist was moved to have sang this psalms and made it readable, so that people of every nations like us, would come to know the GOD Who created the heavens, the earth and the entire universe. The GOD who ordained Israel to be His chosen nation, to stablished and build up Jerusalem, wherein is His praises and worship shall be heard; and that the fear of Him in the entire land be witnessed, through the gatherings of the outcast of Israel.
Certainly, it is indeed good thing to sing praises unto GOD who is great in power and with infinite understanding. For there is an unfathomable, overflowing joy that soothes the heart of a weary and fearful souls, once songs of praises unto GOD is heard. It is like a balm of sweet ointment that comforts the worn out spirit. It is the consolation from GOD, The Good LORD, once His heart is moved from pleasantries of faithful praising, as the people who fears Him worship Him In Spirit and in Truth.
These people are them who like the Psalmist, knows who GOD is, and understand His ways and Mighty Power. They are them who have not wasted their time in worldly pleasures but delighted themselves in The LORD through seeking, studying and staying in the will, in the words and in the ways of GOD their Beloved LORD.
Without doubt, The LORD takes pleasures in them that fear Him. And if The LORD GOD is please, then most assuredly, them who fears Him shall be blessed.
As what it was written in the first 3 verses of Psalm 1:
Psalm 1:1-3 KJV
[1] Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
[2] But his delight is in the law of the Lord ; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
[3] And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
This is the goodness of not only knowing GOD The Creator, but singing praises unto Him with joy and gladness. For nobody is able to sing praises unto Him without learning from Him, living for Him and loving Him with all mind soul and might.
Let GOD takes pleasures in our lives today and ever.
Good day!
Psalm 147:1-20 KJV
[1] Praise ye the Lord : for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely. [2] The Lord doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel. [7] Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God: [8] Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains. [9] He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry. [10] He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man. [11] The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy. [12] Praise the Lord , O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion. [13] For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee. [14] He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat. [15] He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly. [16] He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes. [17] He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold? [18] He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow. [19] He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel. [20] He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the Lord .
