The Lot Of The Righteous

January 6, 2018- Saturday-#582- Daily Morning Bible Reading and Meditation-Psalm 125 KJV

***For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.***

[1] They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.

[2] As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about his people from henceforth even for ever.

[3] For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.

[4] Do good, O Lord , unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts.

[5] As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the Lord shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall be upon Israel.

Words to ponder for today:

The Lot Of The Righteous

From the commentary of The Treasury Of David I subscribed:
...Verse 3. For the rod of the wicked, etc. According to Gussetius, this is to be understood of a measuring rod; laid not on persons, but on lands and estates; and best agrees with the lot, inheritance, and estate of the righteous; and may signify that though wicked men unjustly seize upon and retain the farms, possessions, and estates of good men, as if they were assigned to them by the measuring line; yet they shall not hold them long, or always. -- John Gill...

The Rod

* It is an instrument which were  used by the Egyptians to whip the worn out bodies of their Jewish slaves.
* It was the rod of Moses he used pasturing the stocks of his father in law, which was use by GOD to shew many miracles and wonders to free the Israelites from enslavement in Egypt.
* it is a tools for measurement used by the Israelites to determine their lot portion of inheritance.

Some other commentator said, it is generally the wicked’s instrument to grievously lay upon the back of the righteous and innocent; the tools use for punishing them from their shortcomings and disagreement to their wicked masters’ pernicious ways. It was then allowed by GOD to be used to His erring children to lay upon them great burden and sufferings to lead them back to  return to Him and rely upon His saving power.

The Psalmist comforting song herein is an assurance that no matter how grievous the state a righteous man suffered from the rod of the wicked, it will never affected the portion of  the them who put their trust and hope in The LORD.
It is such a blessed assurance that, the rod of the wicked shall not be able to rest with the lot of the righteous forever. Might be for a season, but will not linger and tarry with the upright unto their eternal destination.
This is the blessed hope every true Christian believers received from GOD as a gift through accepting, believing and calling upon the Name of The LORD JESUS CHRIST as their Savior. After they have realized they are a sinners, they repented from their sins, and rejected the salvation and security the world offered them, they gladly received GOD’s gift of salvation through the blood; The death burial and resurrection of JESUS CHRIST The ONLY Begotten Son of GOD The Father, Who is the Only Way, The Truth and a The Life, who have spoken: John 10:27-30 KJV
[27] My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
[28] And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
[29] My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
[30] I and my Father are one.

Whom Apostle Paul testified in his epistle:
Romans 8:35-39 KJV
[35] Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
[36] As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. [37] Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
[38] For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
[39] Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

This is the lot of the righteous. Nothing can take this away from us whom are called and chosen by The LORD.
Let this also be known to our love ones: family, relatives and friends, that they may also obtain that lot intended only for them who are justified by GOD, through accepting, believing and calling ONLY upon The Name of The LORD JESUS CHRIST, from whence the rod of the wicked shall not rest.

May you also receive the saving grace I have with me right now and forever.

Have a pleasant day ahead!
