April 19, 2018-Thursday-#679- Daily Morning Bible Reading and Meditation- Isaiah 21 KJV
*** For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth. ***
[2] A grievous vision is declared unto me; the treacherous dealer dealeth treacherously, and the spoiler spoileth. Go up, O Elam: besiege, O Media; all the sighing thereof have I made to cease.
[3] Therefore are my loins filled with pain: pangs have taken hold upon me, as the pangs of a woman that travaileth: I was bowed down at the hearing of it ; I was dismayed at the seeing of it .
[6] For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth.
[7] And he saw a chariot with a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses, and a chariot of camels; and he hearkened diligently with much heed:
[8] And he cried, A lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights:
[9] And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground.
[10] O my threshing, and the corn of my floor: that which I have heard of the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared unto you.
Words to ponder for today:
A Watchman
To whom The LORD’s commandment is directly given, it is upon him whom is the first person to carry the burden.
The Prophet Isaiah was commanded by GOD to set a watchman. Yet obviously, he himself served as a watchman day and night, who have seen that grievous vision which affrighted him; that that great miseries and catastrophe was clearly registered in his mind; and that he was able to have wrote it in detail, that all who read, may read and understand.
Isaiah was an Israelite, from the tribe of Judah of Tamar and the son of the Prophet Amos, the brother of King Hezekiah, according to rabbinic literature.
Nonetheless, his prophesies were not solely focus on the land and the people of Israel, but even to some great and mighty nations of the earth.
Most of his prophesy has been fulfilled.
Although, there were many times when the Great Babylon were invaded and captives, as it was prophetically written by Prophet Isaiah, here in verse [9]: “And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground.” , even it is so now in our generation, when The ISIS invaded brutally and barbarically slaughtered, rapes and enslave its inhabitants: where some scape and scattered abroad, the extreme of its fall shall come in the last days, the fulfillment of this fearful and frightening fall of Babylon. This was confirmed prophetically in the new testament’s Revelation by Apostle John, the beloved Apostle of The LORD JESUS CHRIST.
That in Revelation 18:1-2 KJV
[1] And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
[2] And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
This things shall come to them because of their inclination and propensity in worshiping of idols, even their pride and haughtiness in spirit. Not only them, but to other nations wherein warnings through preaching have been preached and spoken the coming wrath and judgement of The LORD, yet have not repented nor believed.
Metaphor also, not only to the Israelites, but also to the children of GOD is herein written: Isaiah 21:10 KJV
[10] O my threshing, and the corn of my floor: that which I have heard of the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared unto you.
From verse 10-17, where GOD’s people were as corn in Isaiah’s threshing floor to whom he declared, that they shall witness what will come to happen in the land of Duma and of Arabia.
Why then are the children of Israel, even GOD’s chosen people herein referred to as corn?
It is because they were gathered and threshed to hear the watchman what he is speaking about. That they should be as him a watchman; not only to watch but to become food to the hungry people from GOD’s words, and a good seed to multiply and satisfy the needy.
Certainly, all of GOD’s people who have come to the knowledge of truth should multiply and be a bread to the hungry souls. We, who accepted, believe and call only upon the Name of The LORD JESUS CHRIST are all set to be a watchman who sees the coming judgment. We should feel the grievous fear from that coming destruction that we will not close our eyes day and night unto prayers, nor zip our mouth to share GOD’s love and salvation.
It was written in Proverbs 11:30 KJV
[30] The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.
Let us all be among the corn gathered together to become bountiful seeds and feed many.
Let us all listen to GOD called watchman whom are sent to speak to us about GOD’s words, that we may know GOD’s message to usward.
Let us all win souls to Christ.
Have a pleasant day ahead!
Isaiah 21:1-17 KJV
[1] The burden of the desert of the sea. As whirlwinds in the south pass through; so it cometh from the desert, from a terrible land. [4] My heart panted, fearfulness affrighted me: the night of my pleasure hath he turned into fear unto me. [5] Prepare the table, watch in the watchtower, eat, drink: arise, ye princes, and anoint the shield. [6] For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth. [7] And he saw a chariot with a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses, and a chariot of camels; and he hearkened diligently with much heed: [8] And he cried, A lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights: [9] And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground. [10] O my threshing, and the corn of my floor: that which I have heard of the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared unto you. [11] The burden of Dumah. He calleth to me out of Seir, Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night? [12] The watchman said, The morning cometh, and also the night: if ye will enquire, enquire ye: return, come. [13] The burden upon Arabia. In the forest in Arabia shall ye lodge, O ye travelling companies of Dedanim. [14] The inhabitants of the land of Tema brought water to him that was thirsty, they prevented with their bread him that fled. [15] For they fled from the swords, from the drawn sword, and from the bent bow, and from the grievousness of war. [16] For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of an hireling, and all the glory of Kedar shall fail: [17] And the residue of the number of archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, shall be diminished: for the Lord God of Israel hath spoken it .
