Naked and Barefooted

April 18, 2018- Wednesday-#678- Daily Morning Bible Reading-Isaiah 20 KJV

***And the Lord said, Like as my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years for a sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia;***

[2] At the same time spake the Lord by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and put off thy shoe from thy foot. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.

[3] And the Lord said, Like as my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years for a sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia;

[4] So shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Ethiopians captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, even with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.

[5] And they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.

[6] And the inhabitant of this isle shall say in that day, Behold, such is our expectation, whither we flee for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria: and how shall we escape?

Words to ponder for today:

Naked and Barefooted

The LORD commanded His Prophet Isaiah to remove his sack clothing and put off his shoes and walk in the public. Thus, the people of Egypt and Ethiopia were given warnings.
Nakedness in the old times is a humiliation. It is a metaphor of disgrace, desertion and decadence.
The people of a subdued and defeated nation  are stripped to their nakedness by their oppressive conqueror. Some are running barefooted to scape the tragic and horrific life they have in the hands of their oppressors.
The same example was written in the bible. The people of Israel were lead to captivity because they turn their back from their GOD, Who have chosen them to be His Peculiar People, giving them the Royal Priesthood. And because of their stiff- necked heart, The GOD of their forefathers gave them to be overpowered by powerful nations; such as Egyptians, Assyrians, Babylonians, Romans, Germans. These conquerors threshed them like grapes; as on that day of holocaust. But some of them haven’t learn their lessons; they repeat the same mistakes over and over again.
GOD’s eyes are not focus only in the land of His footstool Israel. He saw the wickedness of other nation. And His eyes are not blinded to see their wickedness and evil deeds.
That the day will come, just as what The Prophet Isaiah prophesied unto Egypt and Ethiopia, the same shall be happen unto the ungodly nations; when the inhabitants will flee from their captors and they will cry for help, but no one seems to hear and delivered them.

Nakedness today is an acceptable fashion by many. Even rugged clothings and indecent looks are the trend. But if the people will never learn to look and listen to the voice of GOD, there will come a time, they wanted their body be covered but could not. They wanted to wear decent clothings but can not. They long for their feet to wear pleasant sandals or shoes, but would not. Because they are in the hands of captivity. They are conquered if not casted away; and none to help them.
I hope and pray that people, even my own people will not wait for the time they will run naked and barefooted. But before that day will come to pass, they will come to the knowledge of GOD’s saving grace in The Name of His Son JESUS CHRIST. For Only in Him is salvation from perdition and that day of tribulation.

Let them who read take time to listen to GOD’s calling.
The LORD JESUS said in Matthew 11:28-29 KJV
[28] Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
[29] Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Come and call JESUS CHRIST and be saved today!

Have a pleasant day ahead!

Isaiah 20:1-6 KJV

[1] In the year that Tartan came unto Ashdod, (when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him,) and fought against Ashdod, and took it; [2] At the same time spake the Lord by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and put off thy shoe from thy foot. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot. [3] And the Lord said, Like as my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years for a sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia; [4] So shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Ethiopians captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, even with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt. [5] And they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory. [6] And the inhabitant of this isle shall say in that day, Behold, such is our expectation, whither we flee for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria: and how shall we escape?
