Behold, The Days Come

June 14, 2023- Morning Bible Reading and Meditation-Amos 8 KJV

[11] Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord :

[12] And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it.

Behold, The Days Come

“[13] In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst.

[14] They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, Thy god, O Dan, liveth; and, The manner of Beer-sheba liveth; even they shall fall, and never rise up again.”

1. The Destruction which is about to come: v. 1-3 Summer fruit, after it is gathered and put it in a basket, it should be consumed all at once because it will never be preserved for the winter. This  is an epitome of how that The LORD gave all at once everything that satisfies the soul of His erring people, before His judgement be outpoured.

2. V. 4-8, The Devoid from understanding rich merchant of Israel from the Judgement of GOD. : they don’t find pleasure in the service of the sanctuary. They failed to solemnized the Sabbath of The LORD. At the worship time, their mind is wondering away.. if it possible, they would have  escaped the sabbath and holidays, so that they can buy and sell deceitfully, using their unbalanced scaling for more gain. Even the poor and the innocent, they traded them for a meager price; because what they are after to is more gain. Not knowing nor afraid of the judgement of GOD which is about to come to them.

3. V.9-11 The Departing of GOD’s presence from His people.

The LORD GOD who called Israel by name, determined to depart from His people and let them suffer from their godlessness, and scarcity from GOD’s words. Famine from His words will cause young men and women to faint. The cause of all tumults and troubles arises within.

1. V12-14 The Desolation of the idolatrous people. They worshipped the molten calves that Jeroboam sent to be erected in the south passage of Israel which is Beth-el, and in the tribe of Dan in the North. 1 Kings 12:26-30. Hence, it causes the tribe of Dan to be removed  from the count of the 144 thousand virgin men commissioned to preach the Kingdom of GOD. Revelation 7:5-8 KJV

There will be indeed a coming days when a famine of GOD’s words will overtake the face of the earth. After all the Saints will be taken up, and the Anti Christ be revealed, there will be no more grace for the left behind to be saved. They will die an hungered or in thirst, if they will not receive the mark of the beast.

The very reason why The LORD JESUS commanded us in Mark 16:15-16 KJV

“[15] And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

[16] He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”

No more time for us to be idle.

No more time for us to be irresponsive.

The gospel of salvation shall be preach and teach, first to our household, to our neighbors and to all whom we are to come accross.

If we really love souls, we must share to them the gift of salvation from The LORD.

Acts 17:30-31 KJV

“[30] And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

[31] Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.”

Let us not be held accountable like those people who neglected the commandment of The LORD.  but let us be as Amos the Herd-man who kept himself growing in faith, and walk closer to GOD, glowing in righteousness,  that none hindered him in going to preach GOD’s words to the lost, when The LORD said to him:

Behold, The Days Come…

Have a pleasant day to all.❤️

Amos 8:1-14 KJV

[1] Thus hath the Lord God shewed unto me: and behold a basket of summer fruit. [2] And he said, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. Then said the Lord unto me, The end is come upon my people of Israel; I will not again pass by them any more. [3] And the songs of the temple shall be howlings in that day, saith the Lord God : there shall be many dead bodies in every place; they shall cast them forth with silence. [4] Hear this, O ye that swallow up the needy, even to make the poor of the land to fail, [5] Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit? [6] That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; yea, and sell the refuse of the wheat? [7] The Lord hath sworn by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will never forget any of their works. [8] Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein? and it shall rise up wholly as a flood; and it shall be cast out and drowned, as by the flood of Egypt. [9] And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord God, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day: [10] And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day. [11] Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord : [12] And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it. [13] In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst. [14] They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, Thy god, O Dan, liveth; and, The manner of Beer-sheba liveth; even they shall fall, and never rise up again.
