In The Power of Their Hands

July 8, 2023- Morning Bible Reading and Meditation- Micah 2KJV

[1] Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.

[2] And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.

[3] Therefore thus saith the Lord ; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time is evil.

[4] In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me! turning away he hath divided our fields.

Words to ponder for today:

In The Power of Their Hand

Curse to them who conceived in their minds oppression for the weak.

Mentioned are the transgressions which The LORD hates; spoken by Prophet Micah:

2. Land grabbing- taking ones property by violence.v.2

3. Deceit - changing portion: might be in wages, or payment for the property and houses, that was taken forcefully. v. 4

4. Robbing- stripping of the garments of them who walk safely in their minds.v.8

5. Forcefully taking women from their houses and even those who nourishes their children. v.9

These evil works pollutes the land; that The LORD urged the righteous people to leave the land for Him to outpoured His wrath.

From this chapter we are reminded: in thoughts, words and deeds avoid evil and wickedness, for from these the LORD GOS hates.

Apostle Paul remind from his epistle the Corinthians church: 1 Corinthians 15:33-34 KJV

[33] Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

[34] Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

Even He wrote these to Ephesians church:

Ephesians 4:29-32KJV

“29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.”

Even we, who have the seal of the Spirit of GOD are not exempted from these sinfulness, for we are yet in the flesh. Doing good or evil are still in the power of our hand.

So let us all be always reminded from reading, listening and meditating the word of The LORD, for us to be free from the wrath of GOD to be outpoured.

Before we speak a word or act, think, ponder, contemplate and pray hard; let only the good empowers our hands.

Have a pleasant morning beloveds of God!

Micah 2:1-13 KJV

[5] Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast a cord by lot in the congregation of the Lord. [6] Prophesy ye not, say they to them that prophesy: they shall not prophesy to them, that they shall not take shame. [7] O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the Lord straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly? [8] Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse from war. [9] The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ye taken away my glory for ever. [10] Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction. [11] If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people. [12] I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men. [13] The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the Lord on the head of them.
