An Adamant Stone

September 1, 2023-  Morning Bible Reading and Meditation- Zechariah 7KJV

9 Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother:

10 And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.

11 But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear.

12 Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the Lord of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the Lord of hosts.

Words to ponder for today:

An Adamant Stone

Adamant: unshaken, unyielding

Prophesying, pastoring, preaching, and pleading:

These are the objectives of sending  prophets by The LORD to His people; yet while life is good, none did hearken to the reproving even warning from The LORD.

Prophesying: speaking to people what must come to happen.

Pastoring: leading them in the path of righteousness

Preaching: rebuking the sins people have committed, rehearsing the law and teaching them what is acceptable they should do.

Pleading: trying to lovingly impart to the people the law for them to avoid going too far from the commandment of the LORD.

The commandments The LORD which were repeatedly spoken:

“9 Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother:

10 And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.”

But they forsook to hear.

Their heart become hardened.

They continue to do their own way.

They repeatedly disobeyed,

And the wrath of GOD was poured out to them; and they were scattered.

Hardheadedness of people caused the eyes of GOD to be turn away from them.

Hardheartedness of people caused the heart of GOD to anger.

Hastiness of people to acquire wealth made GOD’s hand to become heavier.

The hardship of life in us, sometimes are brought about by our obstinacy.

Our anxieties are often the results of our inclination to acquire wealth and    Self-sufficiency.

Our destruction, the result of our poor choices; forsaking morality.

Let not our heart be hardened like an adamant stone.

Just as what was written in Hebrews 3:15-17KJV

“15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.

17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?”

Let each one of us keep our heart tender by continually listening, looking, learning and leaning on to the prophesying, preaching, pastoring and pleading from GOD’s words.

Keep walking in the ways of The LORD, and be free from the coming destruction that must come to this erring world.

Be saved today and be blessed forever.

Good morning.

Zechariah 7KJV

1And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Darius, that the word of the Lord came unto Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth month, even in Chisleu;

2 When they had sent unto the house of God Sherezer and Regemmelech, and their men, to pray before the Lord,

3 And to speak unto the priests which were in the house of the Lord of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?

4 Then came the word of the Lord of hosts unto me, saying,

5 Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me, even to me?

6 And when ye did eat, and when ye did drink, did not ye eat for yourselves, and drink for yourselves?

7 Should ye not hear the words which the Lord hath cried by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and the cities thereof round about her, when men inhabited the south and the plain?

8 And the word of the Lord came unto Zechariah, saying,

13 Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the Lord of hosts:

14 But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations whom they knew not. Thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: for they laid the pleasant land desolate.
