“16] And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

[25] These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.

[26] But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”

THE HOLY GHOST: The COMFORTER

1. The Specified Third Person in the Godhead.

2. The Silent Person in the Godhead.

3. The seldom recognized and mentioned in the Godhead.

Trinity is a word which could not be found in the bible. But our key, specific verses, with 1 John 5:7 concluded this very word:

• The Sovereign GOD: The Father was specifically and precisely mentioned by JESUS 19 times; 20 times written in this chapter alone.
• The Son of GOD: JESUS placed Himself as the second specific position of Himself in the Godhead, being loved by His Father GOD and one with GODHis Father. V.6,10-14,23,28,31, John 1:1,2
• The SPIRIT of GOD was spoken by JESUS Naming Him the HOLY GHOST as the third person in the Godhead: addressing Him as another Comforter.16,25,26,

The LORD JESUS, as Hknew He is about to die, made it clear in His verbal will, together with His declaration to His disciples this doctrine of Trinity particularly in this chapter. This too were written also by the prophets Genesis 1:1,2,26, and afterwards, by the apostles in their written testimonies through the other three gospels and the epistles.

In Biblical Education this Trinity have their own subject namely:

GOD- The Doctrine of Theology

JESUSThe Son of GOD- The Doctrine of Christology

HOLY SPIRIT- The Doctrine of Pneumatology

This chapter gives us the complete doctrine of the Godhead which is able to give us confidence to answer the questions of whom we believe, what we believe, and why we believe, from which if we have gone through in-dept learnings, enables us to prove the subject and system of our belief. We can identify the contents from the following words given here by our Loving LORD and Savior JESUS CHRIST:

A. Our assurance-
➢ We should not be troubled in our heart about everything that happens whether it is problems, sickness, struggles in life or even death; for JESUS didn’t died for nothing; but for our salvation and is preparing a place for us in His Heavenly Kingdom; and that He is coming again to take us, to be with Him for eternity. V.1-3
➢ What we need is to trust Him, just according to His direct and clearly spoken words. V.1-6
➢ And that we must take His words aswhat He said. V.9-14
B. Our Blessedness-
➢ We are empowered to do great things if we believe in Him. V.12
➢ And if we do the things that pleases Him, we ask anything in His Name, He will give it to us; that the Father may be glorified in the Name of JESUS. V.13,14
C. Our Confidence –
➢ He cares for His disciples and the people who followed HimThis extended to us who listens and believe in His words. v.1-3,
➢ He comforted them, promising He will send another Comforter the HOLY GHOST in His Name. and He fulfilled it., v12, Acts 2:1-4, and in the next generations to ours, who accepted His words, believe that he is the way, and call upon GOD in His Name in prayer, which is His will, the Comforter: The HOLY GHOST indwells. Actively convicting us from our sins, teaching us how to live godly, giving us wisdom to understand GOD’s words, empowering us to overcome the works of the devil.
➢

This also was The LORD’s testament and commandments to His disciples, extending to us His followers His will; giving us His words to comfort us in the days of trials and tribulations.

The words He has given to us in this chapter is His powerful spoken wordsthat if we will internalize those things He said, it will give us the clear understanding, even freedom from the fear of the unknown and uncertainty. For in this His words settles all disputes against the controversy of His Godhead, v.9-11 shed light to the questionsabout the HOLY TRINITY. v.16 and proved the Perfectness of our Savior’s humanity. V28

May we all be confident that in the faith of our LORD and Savior JESUS CHRIST we are

• Saved no matter what happen in this world.
• Settled to have our place within the many mansions of GOD in Heaven.
• Secured being one among His many true believers, with whom the HOLY SPIRIT indwells.

If we then have the assurance which came from the written words; the factual testimony of the author of this gospel even of the testifiers who wrote the three other gospels, why we should still be troubled in this life’s miseries, even the worsensituation we witnessed every daySet all things aside, live one day at a time and keep pressing forward. And as we keep on pressing hard, always give time to keep on telling other who have not yet come to know nor yet convinced about these truths:

• JESUS prepare a place for us: who believe and keeps His words, from the many mansions there in His Father’s House.
• JESUS is coming again to take us to be with Him wherever He is and will be.
• JESUS is the only truth, the only way and the only life; and that no one could come to the Father but by Him only.
• For JESUS is One with the Father and the Father is with Him.
• That The Father sent The Comforter: the HOLY GHOST in JESUS’ Name, to comfort us and teach all things; helpsour infirmities

make an intercession for us in prayerswith groanings when we don’t know what we should prayRomans 8;26, He even bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of GOD. Rom.8:1

• For us who love JESUS and keep His commandments, He and the Father will abode with us; that is the indwelling of the HOLY SPIRIT in us; and nothing is able to separate us from His love. V.23, Romans 8;35-39
• And finally, JESUS gives us His peace. That we should not be troubled nor be afraid. Because He that is in us is greater than that one who is in the world. V.27, 1 John 4:4 KJV

Arise! Let us go hence! Let the HOLY GHOST lead us in His way!

Good morning.

John 14:1-31 KJV

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. [2] In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. [3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. [4] And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. [5] Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? [6] Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. [7] If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. [8] Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. [9] Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? [10] Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. [11] Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. [12] Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. [13] And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. [14] If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. [15] If ye love me, keep my commandments. [16] And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; [17] Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. [18] I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. [19] Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. [20] At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. [21] He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. [22] Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? [23] Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. [24] He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. [25] These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. [26] But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. [27] Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. [28] Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. [29] And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe. [30] Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me. [31] But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.
