“[7] If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
[8] Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
[9] As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
[10] If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.”
Lesson: Ye Bear Much Fruit
Jesus spoke this to His disciples; presumably, as they stood in the upper room and prepared to leave.
He used the picture of the vine because grapevines are commonly planted and cultured everywhere in ancient Israel. Remember the extra ordinary size cluster of grapes carried by the spies sent by Moses, after they’ve done spying the land of Jericho before they conquered it? It was written in Numbers 13:23,24 KJV
This might have been the symbol GOD has given to His people; that the people also made a large golden vine set as a prominent decoration on the front of the temple, signifying the idea that Israel was God’s vine planted in that promise land The LORD has given to them. Clearly, in this chapter JESUS born Israelite, personified and proclaimed that He is The Vine, planted by the Husbandman: GOD the Father.
Spoken by Him, we must believe and wholeheartedly accept: JESUS is the True Vine; and that we must be rooted in Him (not in Israel or any sect named after GOD or Christ) for us to bear fruit for GOD. In the New Covenant community, our first identification is in Jesus Christ Himself, not in Israel or even in the church as such.
WE must be rooted in CHRIST; His spokenword must be inculcated in our heart and mind, particularly these sayings of His, thatsignifies His Godhead; a living word that must bear fruits.
Of this one is one among The seventh I Am of JESUS:
“[1]I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
[5] I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”
Taking note the seven “I Am” according to when it was spoken by The LORD in the book of John for us to remember:
1. I am the bread of life (6:35),
2. I am the light of the world (8:12),
3. I am the door (10:7),
4. I am the good shepherd (10:11, 14),
5. the resurrection and the life (11:25),
6. I am the way the truth and the life (14:6)
7. I am the true vine (15:1).
If we’re not attach to Him like a branch to the vine, whatever we do in this life means nothing in the afterlife.
There is life after death of our physical body. The soul which enable our body tosee, hear, smell, feel by means of touching, and taste, when our body die, it will depart and have to be carried away by the angel to its respective destination. If we are not being grafted to the “vine” whom JESUS said He is, then the “gatherer” whom is the angel of death will carry us to the burning furnace of hell.
Our soul will never die; that means the sufferings of the souls not engrafted with JESUS will be burnt for eternity. How grievous it’s gonna be!
Think of how disastrous now the uncontrollable fire of LA; the losses the victim suffered are unbearable; and we feel sorry for them praying that the fire be contained. How much it will be for the soul not having JESUS as their personal LORD and Savior? Is it not right that we should have compassion to keep on praying for them who don’t know that their soul is going to be gathered for the eternal fire of hell?but as JESUS have spoken, we can’t do anything without Him. We must be personally connected to Him as a branch that bears fruit to the vine.
JESUS the True Vine vindicated us from the penalty of death, that we should be a living testifier of the grace which is the only hope in this world. His words as our guide directed us to be what He wanted for each of His followers to be, according to what Hesaid from this chapter:
If we choose to continue in the love of GOD, we have the joy of CHRIST.
In the earthly time of CHRIST, many among those who are in power and with possession despised and mocked Him. Mostly among them are professing to be servants of GOD the Father. This is themost awful side of mankind: failure to understand JESUS CHRIST and imitate His nature: to love honestly and to live humbly. Once everybody learned these things, all will be more grateful to thank GOD for His provision in this life; enabling each one of us to experience the goodness of His love through the bountiful blessings each of usreceive day by day. This realization will restrain us from becoming proud and self-centered person. For without the breath of life GOD has given us, we will not be able to experience the goodness in this life we called our own. All who professed to be true CHRIST believers should be an example of faith, hope and love; whose heart is open to share and see the needs of others for CHRIST’s love.
There are some who will refute and revile us as we do the works of the LORD, be not troubled by their words. For it is already known to the LORD that He warned also His disciples. v.20-25
Even in our time, we also may encounter such ridicules: “the wise, the learned, the holy” whom they think they are the one telling the truth, will do the best they can to makes us feel we are the liars and not walking in the truth; but take this to heart; The LORD already knew that these will come. We may feel disheartened but help ourselves not be wholly affected by their words.
There is a saying: “if ya can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em!” But the LORD said to us His disciples: if we can’t persuade them, leave them alone, shaking the sole of our sandals; meaning let us not allow their hardheadedness affect our peace. He has spoken this words in Matthew 10 KJV
“13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.
14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.”
Let not the adversary disappoint us, as the branches of the True Vine, that we be not disappointed and stop stepping forward according to GOD’s plan, for the Blood of the perfect sacrifice: The Lamb of GOD already poured out to cleanse us from our sins, because of His love for us. Let its purpose serves as guide that we keep on pressing heavenward; and that we bear much fruit continuing The LORD’s Legacy; His passion for the lost, to win more and more souls for CHRIST.
For there will come a time; in GOD’s appointed time, when JESUS: our LORD and Savior will show to each of all the people of this earth who He is, the truth about His words and the judgment He is to pour out to this ungodly world. May the joy of His promise be the reason of our hope that we much bear much fruit, for the glory of JESUS CHRIST our Savior and Loving LORD.
Lastly, May we not be complacent to live comfortably and let people around us die without knowing JESUS.
Let His words be known to all whom we still have the capability to reach out.
Whatever, whenever, wherever, ye bear much fruit!
*Pray to GOD for the lost souls to be save.
*Proclaim JESUS’ words from the King James Bible.
*Provide for them the means on how they will be engrafted to JESUS CHRIST TheLORD who is the True Vine in this world.
Be Passionately involved!
Good morning!
John 15:1-27 KJV
I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. [2] Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. [3] Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. [4] Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. [5] I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abidethin me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. [6] If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. [7] If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. [8] Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. [9] As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. [10] If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. [11] These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. [12] This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. [13] Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. [14] Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. [15] Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. [16] Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. [17] These things I command you, that ye love one another. [18] If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. [19] If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. [20] Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. [21] But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me. [22] If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin. [23] He that hateth me hateth my Father also. [24] If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. [25] But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, Theyhated me without a cause. [26] But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: [27] And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.
