“[1] Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: [2] By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
[9] Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
[10]For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
[11] And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
The Atonement
Romans 5:1-8 KJV
“[1] Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: [2] By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
[3] And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
[4] And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
[5] And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
[6] For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
[7] For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
[8] But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
This sounds so simple and self explanatory:
THEREFORE, being Justified by faith-
We have peace with GOD,
Through our LORD JESUS CHRIST.
For when we were yet without strength,
Christ died for us, who are among the ungodly.
JESUS CHRIST: by whom we have access into the faith wherein we now stand.
He is the hope that makes us not ashamed, that upon knowing we are GOD’s, we glory even in tribulation. The tribulation that works within us patience, then experience which after, becomes our testimony, then hope which is fueled by love; not because of our love, but the love of GOD which shed abroad in our hearts. (not only for ourselves, but extended to others.)
The very Source and the reason why we have joy, peace, long sufferings, meekness, gentleness, humility; which if only ourselves, would not endure.
This is the awesome, amazingly simplified, wonderful grace of JESUS. The LORD of hope, the Giver of grace, the justifier of our faith, and the hope of our calling.
It is just a matter of choice. We may choose to believe or not to believe. If we believe, all things will be easy and made simplified, by putting our trust in Him and believe in His faithfulness. But if we choose not to believe and follow what the world dictates, then life becomes full of confusion and complexities.
As I said: it is just a matter of choices. We may do our own thing and believe what the world believe, and then suffer restlessness and anxieties. While it will be easy in our mind, emotion and our carefulness, if we in JESUS CHRIST’s words and works give heed and be at peace.
Let this always reminds us; that by choosing to follow CHRIST, we may also have compassion to others, who are still lost and wandering in worldliness.
“[8] But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:9-15 KJV
“ 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.”
We are sinners saved by grace.
As this chapter begins with these phrase:
“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with GOD through JESUS CHRIST;”
That although sin reign over all human race, because of the sin of one man Adam, it didn’t even reaches the level to contend the amazing, abounding and astounding grace of GOD through JESUS CHRIST our Savior.
This then confirmed that all of us who have been saved, because we accepted the gift, believed in the death, burial and resurrection of JESUS CHRIST, call upon His Name praying the sinners prayer, have the privilege such as these :
1. We have access into the grace of GOD.Hebrews 4:6
2. We have the atonement for our sins received. Leviticus 17:11 “ For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.” Romans 5:6-11
3. Unto us abounded the grace of GOD, through the faith which we have in JESUS CHRIST. V.15
Sin, no more have dominion over us. Because we have been justified by JESUS CHRIST; His blood the atonement for our sin.
Let it not be in vain, nor it become a laughing stock, neither a mockery to all who did not believe, because of our unchanged lives. But let our life be a powerful testimony of the atoning grace of GOD in JESUS CHRIST.
Romans 5:16-21 KJV
“16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.”
“Shall many be made righteous”. Many: Not all.
Because:
⁃ not all accepted the gift GOD sent.
⁃ Not all believe that JESUS is the CHRIST sent by GOD His Father.
⁃ Not all call upon GOD in JESUS CHRIST most Holy Name.
⁃ Not all decided to follow and obey CHRIST JESUS word.
But grace abound to us all who departed from evil and do good, after calling GOD in JESUS Name, because we have wholeheartedly believe JESUS CHRIST and accepted Him as our LORD and personal Savior.
And the righteousness of GOD was imputed to us who are among the many.
The world may condemn us, may cast as away from their gathering, but our Loving GOD through His Son JESUS CHRIST cares. He knows the hardships we’re going through; He is not happy seeing us broken over heavy burdens. Our trust and confidence matter so much to Him.
So let us just keep on going. Let our groaning in prayers reaches to the throne of Heaven; for our Loving LORD and Savior sees, hears, listen even our unspoken prayers.
His righteousness which was imputed unto us who accepted Him, believe only in Him and call upon His Name in prayers , matters so much to Him.
Let our faith in JESUS CHRIST grow stronger everyday; let it settle to Him Who is the Atonement for our sins.
Good morning.
