August 23, 2017-Wednesday-#456 Daily Morning Bible Reading and Meditation- Job 41 KJV
***He beholdeth all high things : he is a king over all the children of pride.***
[1] Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?
[2] Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn?
[10] None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me?
[11] Who hath prevented me, that I should repay him? whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine.
[12] I will not conceal his parts, nor his power, nor his comely proportion.
[15] His scales are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal.
[18] By his neesings a light doth shine, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.
[19] Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out.
[20] Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron.
[21] His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth.
[24] His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, as hard as a piece of the nether millstone .
[25] When he raiseth up himself, the mighty are afraid: by reason of breakings they purify themselves.
[26] The sword of him that layeth at him cannot hold: the spear, the dart, nor the habergeon.
[33] Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear.
[34] He beholdeth all high things : he is a king over all the children of pride.
Thoughts to ponder for today:
A King Over All The Children of Pride
A Leviathan-something of monstrous size, power, or appearance
Synonyms: giant, blockbuster, colossus, dinosaur, dreadnought,
Merriam Webster incorporate leviathan as behemoth also, which was mentioned in Job 40:15-24, which I found out to be named as the dinosaurs, similar appearance and meaning of the dragons:
Dragon: an imaginary animal that can breathe out fire and looks like a very large lizard with wings, a long tail, and large claws
Full Definition
1 archaic : a huge serpent
2 : a mythical animal usually represented as a monstrous winged and scaly serpent or saurian with a crested head and enormous claws
The bible detailed, as GOD himself had spoken about them to Job, to prove the totality of His power; and that He had created them, for men to know and realized they are subjected to frailties because of their limited power, and that GOD alone is able to control everything He has created; He alone is The All Powerful and The Almighty GOD.
And as I researched, behemoth was named in some satanic worshipped and cults, such as dragons are worshipped and made as the symbol of prosperity in some countries.
This has just proven to us now, that what GOD had spoken to Job in the last verse of this chapter is true: [34] He beholdeth all high things : he is a king over all the children of pride.
As how GOD illustrated the features and the characteristics of the leviathan here, is how it was portrayed and have appeared in some movies about the animated dinosaurs; where no human power, nor weapons can easily defeat their powerful, devastating actions; that it makes some, young and old viewers to fearfully trembled by just watching their gazing and movements.
Indeed, GOD had created everything for a purpose. He had created giants, even monstrous and stronger beasts to prove to us how amazing and awesome GOD we have; that as He assigned and imputed divers power into every creature, He has given more unto human the understanding, even the wisdom from Him, as He have given dominion unto every creatures to him who was created in the image of GOD.
Human are created with understanding, even the perception to know what is right and wrong, for them to rule well, to discern what is good and evil, and to know and to fear The Almighty GOD, who has no beginning nor ending.
Leviathans are created to magnify the power of our GOD, but they should not be the idols to subdue and control other's lives.
Let not idols worshipping even fables deceit us who believe and fear GOD, for they are the tools of the devil who is the father of pride. For these are practiced among them who had made leviathans the proud, their king.
The LORD has given vision to John about this beast in Revelation 12:9,13-17 KJV
[9] And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
[13] And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child . [14] And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. [15] And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. [16] And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. [17] And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Let us be reminded of what Apostle Paul has written to Timothy :1 Timothy 4:7 KJV
[7] But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.
Let us then exercise godliness.
Let us know more about GOD and His power, compassion and Charity.
Have a blessed day ahead!
Job 41:1-34 KJV
[1] Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down? [2] Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn? [3] Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words unto thee? [4] Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him for a servant for ever? [5] Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens? [6] Shall the companions make a banquet of him? shall they part him among the merchants? [7] Canst thou fill his skin with barbed irons? or his head with fish spears? [8] Lay thine hand upon him, remember the battle, do no more. [9] Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him? [10] None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me? [11] Who hath prevented me, that I should repay him? whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine. [12] I will not conceal his parts, nor his power, nor his comely proportion. [13] Who can discover the face of his garment? or who can come to him with his double bridle? [14] Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible round about. [15] His scales are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal. [16] One is so near to another, that no air can come between them. [17] They are joined one to another, they stick together, that they cannot be sundered. [22] In his neck remaineth strength, and sorrow is turned into joy before him. [23] The flakes of his flesh are joined together: they are firm in themselves; they cannot be moved. [27] He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood. [28] The arrow cannot make him flee: slingstones are turned with him into stubble. [29] Darts are counted as stubble: he laugheth at the shaking of a spear. [30] Sharp stones are under him: he spreadeth sharp pointed things upon the mire. [31] He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment. [32] He maketh a path to shine after him; one would think the deep to be hoary. [33] Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear. [34] He beholdeth all high things : he is a king over all the children of pride.
