The Decree

August 26, 2017 -Saturday-#459 Daily Morning Bible Reading and Meditation-Psalm 2 KJV

***I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.***

[1] Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? 

[2] The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord , and against his anointed, saying , 

[3] Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. 

[7] I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. 

[8] Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. 

[9] Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. 

[10] Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. 

[11] Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. 

[12] Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

Thoughts to ponder for today:

The Decree

Decree: : an official order given by a person with power or by a government

: an official decision made by a court of law

: a foreordaining will

The Psalmist, the shepherd in his youth who became a mighty, powerful, and godly king of Israel, from whose descendants born The Master,King of kings, The LORD of lords and Savior JESUS CHRIST, have had written here a prophetic foreordaining will of GOD, The Heavenly Father. 

In The Old Testament, a prophecy of the coming Messiah is concealed, Whom was spoken of by the prophets even in the books written by Moses. In Genesis, this He was written: Genesis 3:15 KJV

[15] And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her SEED; IT shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise HIS heel.

In this chapter 2 of Psalm verse 1-3,  was written how people, even kings and rulers of the earth have agreed to despised, mocked and crucified The LORD JESUS CHRIST, as they rejected Him who had boldly spoken: 

John 10:25-30 KJV

[25] Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. 

[26] But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. 

[27] My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 

[28] And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. [29] My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. 

[30] I and my Father are one.

King David have declared here a decree; a prophetic foreordaining will; "[7] I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee."

The decree was not for his kingship, but rather for his coming Descendant Eternal King, JESUS CHRIST, as the form of the written inspired word, Son, which was capitalized and in possessive form. A very personal, relational and exclusively given title to The ONE and ONLY Begotten Son. 

This is how GOD The Father of our LORD JESUS CHRIST have spoken after He was baptized by John The Baptist as saying in four gospel: 

Matthew 3:16-17 KJV

[16] And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 

[17] And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Mark 1:10-11 KJV

[10] And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: 

[11] And there came a voice from heaven, saying , Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Luke 3:21-22 KJV

[21] Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,

 [22] And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

John 1:32-34 KJV

[32] And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. [33] And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. 

[34] And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

There are many proofs and recorded events when The LORD JESUS had performed many miraculous things for His own people to believe Him as The Son of GOD; yet, they denied and until now still deny that HE is the Messiah they are waiting. 

Many are still blindly following the rulers of this world, which was also prophesied by the Psalmist here in verse 8-12. Yet the last part of verse 12 is a promise given:  ..." Blessed are all they that put their trust in him."

Everything, even dominions of the heathen are already given to The Son JESUS CHRIST after His resurrection, as He is now sitting in the right hand of GOD, His Heavenly Father. It is written in Hebrews 12:2,23-25,29 KJV

[2] Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 

[23] To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, 

[24] And to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. 

[25] See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape , if we turn away from Him that speaketh from heaven: 

[29] For our God is a consuming fire.

 Kiss the SON, was figuratively spoken. It is a great duty of every Christian believers to reconcile with GOD in truth, through His Son JESUS CHRIST; kiss Him in faith and in fellowshipping with Him through repentance from the sins of idolatry and denying His words, kiss Him, by obeying His commandments, not to the words of the false teachers who have lead many to kiss the replicated  idols named after Him made by hands; kiss Him in taking His words as the truth, lest He be angry and His wrath against all forms of idolatry be fall upon them who likened Him to idols even four footed beast worship by many. 

Accept GOD, even The Words whom is His Son JESUS CHRIST as The LORD and Savior.

Believe Him in Spirit and in Truth.

Casting all upon Him, trust Him and meditate on the decree, the written and translated inspired words,  The King James Bible.

[8] Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
