September 24, 2017-488 Daily Morning Bible Reading and Meditation- Psalm 31 KJV
***Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.***
[1] In thee, O Lord , do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.
[2] Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me.
[3] For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.
[4] Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou art my strength.
[5] Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.
[6] I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the Lord .
[7] I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities;
[8] And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large room.
[23] O love the Lord , all ye his saints: for the Lord preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.
[24] Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord .
Words to ponder for today:
Into Thy Hand I Commit My Spirit
Luke 23:46 KJV
[46] And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, He gave up the ghost.
The last word The LORD JESUS CHRIST had spoken while nailed crucified and hanging on that cross of calvary. Thus the fulfillment of His submission and obedience to the will of His GOD and Father; taking the sins of all souls in this world; offered once and for all his very dear life, so that your soul, my soul and all the souls of this world, will be free from curse and the punishment of sin inherited from our forefather Adam.
Yet them who are proud in heart and all unbelieving who are likened to them who were after the destruction of the Psalmist's souls in Psalm 22:20, together with them who refuse to believe and crucified GOD's Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ, were called dogs, are destined for eternal perdition.
Let me share with you Matthew Henry's commentary:
Faith and prayer must go together, for the prayer of faith is the prevailing prayer. David gave up his soul in a special manner to God. And with the words, ver. 5, our Lord Jesus yielded up his last breath on the cross, and made his soul a free-will offering for sin, laying down his life as a ransom. But David is here as a man in distress and trouble. And his great care is about his soul, his spirit, his better part. Many think that while perplexed about their worldly affairs, and their cares multiply, they may be excused if they neglect their souls; but we are the more concerned to look to our souls, that, though the outward man perish, the inward man may suffer no damage. The redemption of the soul is so precious, that it must have ceased for ever, if Christ had not undertaken it. Having relied on God's mercy, He will be glad and rejoice in it. God looks upon our souls, when we are in trouble, to see whether they are humbled for sin, and made better by the affliction. Every believer will meet with such dangers and deliverances, until he is delivered from death, his last enemy.

The Psalmist in the last verse reiterated his fervent exhortation for all who hope in The LORD, even all believers whom the bible called the living saints : [24] Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord .
Let this also be our hope. Nothing is this world we can't conquer and overcome, if we choose to Accept, Believe, and Call upon The Name of The LORD JESUS CHRIST, who is The Author of our faith. The enemy will no longer be victorious over us even in death; for if we receive and believe on The LORD JESUS CHRIST, we are sealed by GOD's promise.
We just have to commit our spirits in GOD, the same way The Psalmist David, and also our Creator and Redeemer JESUS CHRIST his descendant commit their Spirit unto GOD His Father.
Let The LORD be our living hope now and forever.
AMEN!
Good Sunday morning!
Psalm 31:1-24 KJV
[7] I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities; [8] And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large room. [9] Have mercy upon me, O Lord , for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea , my soul and my belly. [10] For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed. [11] I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me. [12] I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel. [13] For I have heard the slander of many: fear was on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life. [14] But I trusted in thee, O Lord : I said, Thou art my God. [15] My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me. [16] Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: save me for thy mercies' sake. [17] Let me not be ashamed, O Lord ; for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave. [18] Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous. [19] Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men! [20] Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues. [21] Blessed be the Lord : for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city. [22] For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes: nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee. [23] O love the Lord , all ye his saints: for the Lord preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer. [24] Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord .
