September 15, 2017-Friday-#479 Daily Morning Bible Reading and Meditation-Psalm 22 KJV
***My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?***
[1] My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
[2] O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.
[3] But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
[6] But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.
[7] All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying ,
[8] He trusted on the Lord that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.
[16] For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
[18] They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.
[19] But be not thou far from me, O Lord : O my strength, haste thee to help me.
[20] Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.
[22] I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.
Words to ponder for today:
My GOD, My GOD, Why Hast Thou Forsaken Me?
A Psalm and a Prophetic Song of King David.
He hadn't known that all of the sufferings and testings he had been through, was just a prologue of what would happen to the coming Savior who is to be born among his descendants. From the gospel of Matthew and Luke. Although some said there were gaps from both gospel, yet both of them traces the true and right ancestral ascendants of The LORD JESUS CHRIST from King David. Scholars proved that Matthew gave Joseph's genealogy, from whom His Kingly lines was the author of Matthew transcribed twenty eight generations. While Luke gave Mary's, from whom are all 42 generations transcribed, the full humanity of Christ JESUS as the Son of Man; both were from the lineage of King David.
King David Psalms expressed the sufferings that will come to his Descendant; The Chosen ONE, The King of kings, The Eternal Son of GOD, Whom GOD turned away His eyes, had forsaken while bearing the sins of the world; was rejected and despised by his very own people and even some of them who do not believe Him.
All of the pain, the griefs and the sufferings of The LORD JESUS CHRIST has been prophesied in the Old Testament books; particularly in this chapter of Psalm.
22: [1] My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? ....
Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
I took this commentary from the Messianic Publication which indeed expound the connection of this Psalms to the suffering of The Messiah to fulfill the prophesied providential Salvation:
"Here, in the ancient Psalm of David, the suffering Messiah is prophetically and mystically portrayed. The darkness which came while He hung as the Pesach Lamb demonstrated the manner in which God viewed the sin bearer: He turned the shining of His face away. The trauma He underwent was one which dislocated His bones (vv. 14, 17), and brought dehydration and thirst (v. 15). His hands and feet were bloodied by those who pierced them (v. 16). His enemies divided His clothes like the spoils of war (v. 18).
Yet His cries for help to God did not go unheeded. He knew of the victory He would win, and even of His resurrection, for He knew that He would stand as a witness to His brethren and give praises to the Almighty (vv. 22, 25). He knew that by His suffering He would accomplish the salvation of His people. In exchange for the joy of redeeming His bride, He endured the cross, despised the shame, and won the victory."
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
This is how it happened.
GOD has forsaken His very own Begotten SON JESUS CHRIST, and turned His eyes away from Him while he is suffering on that cross of calvary, to provide redemption for you and me, and for the entire world, that they should believe Him and obtain that bountiful grace, he had victoriously conquered.
But this should not be misconceived as some spiritual group have been teaching; that this events have provided a general salvation. For it is very clear in the passage from Numbers 21:8 KJV
[8] And the Lord said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, WHEN HE looketh upon it, shall live."
To them WHO DID NOT look upon it, shall die.
Relevant and parallel with this verse:
John 3:16 KJV
[16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
To them WHO DID NOT BELIEVE shall perish, and will not see life.
The very LORD and The Very Begotten Son of GOD has spoken:
John 14:6 KJV
[6] Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
If JESUS CHRIST had spoken it, HE meant it.
So why call for other gods which is made and ordained by the hands of man?
Why listen to some spiritual teachers and leaders who have added works and rituals for salvation which was given wholly by GOD through HIS Only SON JESUS CHRIST who had bear all our sins and burdens on that cross of calvary?
When He said it is finished, after He had submissively taken all with HIM HIS FATHER GOD's wrath; who have forsaken HIM wounded, deserted and all alone on that cross, then it is all done.
As Apostle Paul had said:
Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV
[8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
[9] Not of works, lest any man should boast.
If some added unto this, they do not really believe The JESUS CHRIST alone can save.
Take this with words as it is:
Redeemer and Savior is ONLY Jesus Christ.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Salvation is by grace, through faith.
Accept, Believe and Call upon Him and be saved!
Good morning!
Psalm 22:1-31 KJV
[1] My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring? [2] O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent. [3] But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. [4] Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them. [5] They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded. [6] But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people. [7] All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying , [8] He trusted on the Lord that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him. [9] But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts. [10] I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly. [11] Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help. [12] Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round. [13] They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion. [14] I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels. [15] My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death. [16] For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. [17] I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me. [18] They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture. [19] But be not thou far from me, O Lord : O my strength, haste thee to help me. [20] Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog. [21] Save me from the lion's mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns. [22] I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee. [23] Ye that fear the Lord , praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel. [24] For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard. [25] My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him. [26] The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the Lord that seek him: your heart shall live for ever. [27] All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the Lord : and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee. [28] For the kingdom is the Lord's : and he is the governor among the nations. [29] All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul. [30] A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation. [31] They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this .
