October 25, 2017-Wednesday-#517 Daily Morning Bible Reading and Meditation- Psalm 60 KJV
***Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.***
[1] O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased; O turn thyself to us again.
[2] Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.
[9] Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?
[10] Wilt not thou, O God, which hadst cast us off? and thou , O God, which didst not go out with our armies?
[11] Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.
[12] Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.
Words to ponder for today:
Help From Trouble
A Psalm of David- for teaching:
When King Saul left trusting The LORD because of the fear of man, and his obsession about his kingship, then his valiant armies became weak and defeated. The Source of their strength casted them off from His eyes, and forsook them; their valiantness fails and they lose their battle.
But GOD is not willing that His chosen people be wiped out of the face of the earth, as He is true to His promise to Abraham to make them a great nation, that He had raised David, out of the furious pursuit of King Solomon to kill him.
In this Psalm is a teaching of faith.
Even if all the power of this world will join together, yet it is still no match if GOD moves.
Maybe, human is able to create great typhoon such as Yolanda or Haiyan, even can create great earthquake to shake the nations, but GOD's hand is able to keep His chosen people; so that the violent deeds of human shall be able to do no harm against His chosen ones.
If GOD had delivered David out of the tenacious pursuit of King Saul to kill him, would He not do the same to them who faithfully and coherently trusting HIM in this present days?
Indeed, vain is the help of man. Because it is Only GOD who is able to truly give us help in trouble.
He may not stretch forth His own hand from heaven to to do things for our favor, but surely, His hand is able to move everything He enable, for us to know He is in control of everything if we will just put our wholehearted trust in The LORD our Savior.
Let us continue to keep our hearts in the peace of GOD, keep our thoughts trusting in Christ and in HIS Words, and keep our action by obeying the prompting of The Holy Ghost.
Let us be admonished by what Apostle Paul has written: Philippians 4:4-7 KJV
[4] Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. [5] Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
[6] Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
[7] And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Let us humbly yield down ourselves to Him, that His power may gradually works within us according to the measure of our faith. For vain is the help of man, but our GOD is a sure help from troubles.
Good morning!
Psalm 60:1-12 KJV
[1] O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased; O turn thyself to us again. [2] Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh. [3] Thou hast shewed thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment. [4] Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah. [5] That thy beloved may be delivered; save with thy right hand, and hear me. [6] God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth. [7] Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver; [8] Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe: Philistia, triumph thou because of me.
