December 22, 2017-Friday-#573 Daily Morning Bible Reading and Meditation- Psalm 116 KJV
***The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.***
[3] The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.
[4] Then called I upon the name of the Lord ; O Lord , I beseech thee, deliver my soul.
[5] Gracious is the Lord , and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.
[6] The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.
[7] Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.
[8] For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.
Words to ponder for today:
The LORD Preserves The Simple
( I Was Brought Low and HE Helped Me)
This Psalm significantly conveys an utmost, personal intervention of GOD in the life of a sheepishly simple, subjected person.
There is no true acknowledged deliverance unless a person experience the lowest form of hopelessness. Its extremities that dominates a depraved and debased person makes life most miserable, that even the hope of a new morning seems to be a constant darkness.
The Spirit within me inculcated in my memory and bear me a witness of GOD’s wondrous, instantaneous deliverance. That I can’t withhold it hidden alone in my mind, for He prompted me to personally testify how this Psalm was used by GOD; as He enabled me to have experienced His blessed, redemptive deliverance. Before, the miraculous works of GOD was just like a myth for me. For I have outgrown being abused and deprived of moral protection. It seems like a destiny to be lurked and lured into immorality as the abuses has became unbearable.
Until GOD took me in and performed many great things a loving Father in Heaven does to His beloved child.
And so I will not get tired of loving GOD. I will not let a day passed thanking Him for all the great things He has done in my life.
He made me to see with my bare eyes how His invisible hand works to protect me. The epitome of this frightening experience enable me to see how He saves me, and redeemed me from the fire of hell . It occurs to me now, as I remembered that day when He prevented that consuming, raging fire on that supposedly night of devastation and losses, as it did burnt to the ground the house of our neighbour. I was hauled out of my room, unaware as I am on my way half sleeping; carrying nothing but my bag and passport. While watching everybody chaotically hauling their belongings, I and my beloved missionary friend ate Liberty, stand at a distant; she was prayerfully crying, while I would not close my eyes and repeatedly uttering a word of prayer: LORD our GOD save us! Let Your Mighty Hand control the fire and keep our house from burning!
Amazingly, the wind ceased and the fire upwardly; as if a wall divided us from burning to the ground that house of wood next to the old building of our apartment, which side is also built by old woods, this was where Ate Liberty stays.
The fire then subside and eventually died after consuming to ashes that house, while our house were untouched. We were spared from tiresomeness, because we carry nothing out of our room; while others are rummaging their belongings back to their units.
As I went into my room, I opened my bible and this was what The LORD let me read:
Psalm 116 KJV [1] I love the Lord , because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.
[2] Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.
This has been so true to me. How shall I keep myself from loving and thanking my GOD?
He Who answers my prayers, delivered me from the death of my soul, my eyes from tears, keeps my feet from falling and gave me a life of joy and peace, He is worthy of all my praises.
“Return unto thy rest o my soul; for The LORD dealth bountifully with thee.”
The LORD preserves the simple. I was brought low and He helped me.
I hope and pray that He had done so with you too.
Have a blessed Friday today!
Psalm 116:1-19 KJV
[1] I love the Lord , because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. [2] Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live. [9] I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living. [10] I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted: [11] I said in my haste, All men are liars. [12] What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me? [13] I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord . [14] I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people. [15] Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. [16] O Lord , truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds. [17] I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord . [18] I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people, [19] In the courts of the Lord's house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the Lord .
