January 3,2018 -Wednesday-#579 Daily Morning Bible Reading and Meditation -Psalm 122 KJV
***Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.***
[1] I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord .
[2] Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.
[3] Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together:
[4] Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord , unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the Lord .
[5] For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.
[6] Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.
[7] Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.
Thoughts to ponder for today:
Jerusalem...
(They Shall Prosper That Love Thee)
“[1] I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord .”
When we heard about The House Of The LORD, then the name Jerusalem follows.
In the commentary of Charles Spurgeon was written:
“This brief but spirited Psalm is entitled "A Song of Degrees of David", and thus we are informed as go its author, and the occasion for which it was designed: David wrote it for the people to sing at the time of their goings up to the holy feasts at Jerusalem. It comes third in the series, and appears to be suitable to be sung when the people had entered the gates, and their feet stood within the city. It was most natural that they should sing of Jerusalem itself, and invoke peace and prosperity upon the Holy City, for it was the centre of their worship, and the place where the Lord revealed himself above the mercy seat.
Possibly the city was not all built in David's day, but he wrote under the spirit of prophecy, and spoke of it as it would be in the age of Solomon; a poet has license to speak of things, not only as they are, but as they will be when they come to their perfection. Jerusalem, or the Habitation of Peace, is used as the key word of this Psalm, wherein we have in the original many happy allusions to the salem, or peace, which they implored upon Jerusalem.”

Jerusalem henceforth was then called :
The Holy City
The House Of The LORD
The Habitation Of peace
Although GOD, The LORD and The Redeemer Of Israel, allowed it to be destroyed and invaded by the enemies, He had not allowed it’s memories to be forgotten; for all about His love for Jerusalem, the City where He revealed Himself through His Only Begotten Son JESUS CHRIST, was written in the book; the Bible, which He preserved throughout generations. So that the hope from GOD’s promise shall be known and revealed unto them who have chosen to trust GOD; not only by them who are among the Judeans, or the Jewish people, but also to them who have received GOD’s sent Messiah in The Name of The LORD and Savior JESUS CHRIST.
To them who prayed for the City Of Jerusalem, promise was given:
[6] Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.
As King Solomon, The Wisest of all King born to David the sinner, in the face of the earth has also included us in his prayer:
1 Kings 8:41-43 KJV
[41] Moreover concerning a stranger, that is not of thy people Israel, but cometh out of a far country for thy name's sake;
[42] (For they shall hear of thy great name, and of thy strong hand, and of thy stretched out arm;) when he shall come and pray toward this house;
[43] Hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for: that all people of the earth may know thy name, to fear thee, as do thy people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have builded, is called by thy name.
We should also who love the LORD, who have known the city where The Son of GOD has been born, pray for the peace of Jerusalem. For GOD is delighted unto all who love Jerusalem which The LORD have taken to bear witness of His faithfulness. The Holy City Whom He gave to be the inheritance and the habitation of GOD’s own chosen people Israel.
Let our prayers be counted worthy in the ears of our LORD and Savior; as our prayers for our daily needs in our daily walks of life has been heard and answered, let us also remember to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
Let GOD’s blessings continually dwell in us everyday and forever.
AMEN!
A pleasant day to all!
Psalm 122:1-9 KJV
[1] I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord . [2] Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem. [3] Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together: [4] Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord , unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the Lord . [5] For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David. [6] Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. [7] Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. [8] For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee. [9] Because of the house of the Lord our God I will seek thy good.
