Neither do I Exercise Myself In Great Matters

January 13, 2018-Saturday-#588- Daily Morning Bible Reading and Meditation - Psalm 131 KJV

***Lord , my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.***

[1] Lord , my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.

[2] Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child.

[3] Let Israel hope in the Lord from henceforth and for ever.

Words to ponder for today:

Neither do I Exercise Myself In Great Matters

This Psalm indirectly gives message emphasizing contentment in GOD’s love.  It implies that in whatever status in life he is in, he professed a total dependency upon GOD, comparing himself to a young child who is just weaned from his mother’s milk.
Weaning a child from sucking mother’s milk as the only source of his sustenance of food supply from birth causes a lot of  uneasiness and discomfort. It is as difficult as the first try to walk alone. A great challenge for a young child to be feed by hard foods, that sometimes causes indigestion if swallowed without being properly chew, rather, it will be spewed out from his mouth.
The like figure is haughtiness to some who have gone desiring more than he is able to bear; that his heart and his eyes are haughty in wandering to see the world from the top he is hastily climbing up.
“Dream Big, AIM High”
This is the motto of most younger and energetic people from all walks of life. The bold and the brave gone farther in life to achieve higher and bigger. It matters little to them how they will get it; taking all the possible chances in whatsoever causes it may take them. Not afraid to take every risk that they may encounter, just to achieve the desired result of every endeavors in this life. However, The GOD who is the Maker of all knows the end of it all.
For some who did it their ways, mostly ended up desperate and in distress. Because of the consequences of haughtiness which is the root of all careless and compromised actions.
It was Apostle Paul’s admonition to the church of Corinth, whom in his epistles to them appeared to be proud and haughty has written:
2 Corinthians 10:5-6 KJV
[5] Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
[6] And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

And to some, who, like children, behaving themselves meekly to obtain favor from their mother’s love, do put their trust and confidence in GOD; consulting Him all of his plans, goals and dreams.
Let it be our prayers to humble down ourselves to GOD; exercising ourselves not to desires great matters which is huge for us to embrace; nor our eyes be not lofty to see what we should not gaze upon. Let us be contented in whatsoever things we have, for The LORD our GOD in JESUS Name has promised: I will never leave you nor forsake you.❤️🙏😇
Hebrews 10:22-24 KJV
[22] Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. [23] Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
[24] And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

Good morning!

Psalm 131:1-3 KJV
