January 11, 2018-Thursday-#586-Daily Morning Bible Reading and Meditation-Psalm 129 KJV
*** The Lord is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.***
[2] Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me.
[3] The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows.
[4] The Lord is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.
[5] Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.
[6] Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up:
[7] Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.
[8] Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the Lord be upon you: we bless you in the name of the Lord .
Words to ponder for today:
The Cords Of The Wicked
Israel’s oppression from her enemies were like a cord that bonded them, as a plower binds the plowing cord to the oxen, until the plower made a long furrows on their back.
These form of oppressions have enslaved Israel in their youth back in Egypt, from whence the LORD have performed great miracles and wonders to freed them. It is The LORD’s Righteousness that He never tarry long to watch the affliction of His chosen people; that, with His Mighty works, which effectuate great miracles and wonders, have freed them from bondage.
A reflection of the same to GOD’s called people who have put their trust in The GOD of Israel. That, no matter how crucial and difficult worldly life may have thrown to His believers, GOD’s righteousness will not tarry long, and watch the affliction of them who are justified by faith.
For The LORD GOD, shall magnify His Holy Name through the life of His faithful ones. That He will move His hands, up and down, left and right, to prove to His enemies that He is still the same Mighty GOD of yesterday, of this present time, in the coming generations and in forever, Who will not suffer His righteous ones to be moved.
Certainly, the cord of the wicked shall not stand. For The LORD GOD shall cut it off to free His precious children from enslavement and confusion.
As Apostle Peter has written:
1 Peter 1:3-9 KJV
[3] Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
[4] To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
[5] Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
[6] Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
[7] That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
[8] Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
[9] Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
The cords of the wicked is broken through the death burial and resurrection of JESUS CHRIST our LORD. It may have overtook us for a moment, but as we humble down ourselves to The LORD in prayers, His Righteousness will not tarry longer, but move to free us from all forms of oppression, enslavement even from all of life’s difficulties.
Let us therefore be reminded by what Apostle Paul has written, to gird ourselves with the whole armor of GOD.
Ephesians 6:10-13 KJV
[10] Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
[11] Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
[12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places .
[13] Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Have a blessed morning to all!
Psalm 129:1-8 KJV
[1] Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say: [2] Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me. [3] The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows. [4] The Lord is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked. [5] Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion. [6] Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up: [7] Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom. [8] Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the Lord be upon you: we bless you in the name of the Lord .
