The Banner Over Me Is Love

March 21, 2018- Wednesday-#652- Daily Bible Reading and Meditation-Song of Songs 2 KJV

*** He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.***

[1] I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.

[2] As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.

[3] As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.

[4] He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.

[8] The voice of my beloved! behold, he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills.

[9] My beloved is like a roe or a young hart: behold, he standeth behind our wall, he looketh forth at the windows, shewing himself through the lattice.

[10] My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.

[16] My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies.

Words to ponder for today:

His Banner Over Me Is Love

I tried to read some commentaries about this, and I found out that, them, who are scholars and learned have some disagreement in giving their own interpretation. So I just rely upon the leading of The Holy Spirit for understanding in this chapter.

As for the understanding which was ingrained in my thoughts, This Song of Solomon, emblem the attribute of The LORD JESUS CHRIST being the Lily of The Valley as The Husband, and The lily among thorns, refers to as  the Church, Whom is the beloved of The LORD; Whom He had given His life, redeemed by His blood, and promised to be with her unto everlasting .
That after His physical death, burial and resurrection, as He had physically departed from His earthly ministry, to go to His Father’s Heavenly Kingdom, He promise to prepare a place for His beloved chosen people. And the church, after He had chosen  and established her; giving His Holy Name unto her, He lavishly pour out His grace upon her.  He never deserted her, but showered her with abundant provision, protection and perfection. And so, The Love Of JESUS CHRIST becomes the banner of the church.
Henceforth is the trademark of every true believer: 1 Corinthians 13:13
Faith, Hope and Charity.
Faith in every believers’ heart: The emblem of the Faith of The LORD JESUS CHRIST.
Hope of eternal life and the coming of The LORD to take His bride to be with Him forever.
Charity, a pure and perfect compassion for souls of every believers:  as it is the main purpose of the death burial and resurrection of The LORD.

It is the faith hope and love we have from The LORD; that in His appointed time, He will come and take her; the church,  to be with Him forever. As what it was written by Apostle PAUL:
 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 KJV
[15] For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
[16] For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: [17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Hitherto, is the banner over me is His love. I am glad to say being a part of the body of Christ, the church which is Christ’s bride:
[16] My beloved is mine, and I am his...

The time I accepted The LORD JESUS CHRIST as my personal LORD and Savior, it was the time I am bounded and sealed by His saving grace. Whether it be bad or good, be in sickness and in health, be in richer or poorer, I am His, He is mine, and even in death, nothing can separate me from His love.
Romans 8:35-39 KJV
[35] Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
[36] As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. [37] Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
[38] For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
[39] Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I hope and pray all of you who read, as well as all of my family, relatives friends and acquaintances, be one with me to be The LORD’s.

A blessed night to all!

Song of Songs 2:1-17 KJV

[1] I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys. [2] As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters. [3] As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste. [4] He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love. [5] Stay me with flagons, comfort me with apples: for I am sick of love. [6] His left hand is under my head, and his right hand doth embrace me. [7] I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please. [11] For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; [12] The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; [13] The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away. [14] O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely. [15] Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes. [16] My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies. [17] Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou like a roe or a young hart upon the mountains of Bether. …
